Job summary

GlobalFoundries Engineering Private Limited in Bengaluru seeks a Principal Engineer in Integration Engineering to drive electrical characterization, yield analysis, and production lot disposition for 200/300mm fabs across multiple sites. You will enable yield improvement and data-driven decision making while supporting process changes and tool readiness.

The role requires 4–6 years (BE/BTech) or 2–5 years (MSc/MTech) in Electrical/Electronics or Applied Physics with strong SPC, SPS, and FMEA

Qualifications

• BE/BTech with 4–6 years or MSc/MTech with 2–5 years in Electrical/Electronics or Applied Physics
• Experience in high-volume manufacturing, preferably in semiconductors/electronics
• Strong knowledge of SPC, SPS and FMEA methods
• Solid understanding of semiconductor process technology and devices
• Excellent communication and teamwork in a global matrix environment

Responsibilities

• Monitor electrical performance and disposition holds at electrical and sort test
• Investigate scrap and support process change reviews to improve yield
• Analyze failing electrical parameters and perform rapid data mining to identify root causes
• Develop yield characterization and data analysis methods to identify yield limiters
• Support module engineering through electrical test, inline metrology and yield analysis
• Maintain clear issue reporting to home teams and be adaptable to weekend shifts as required

Introduction:

This position is for Integration in GlobalFoundries' India center at Bangalore, supporting 200 and 300mm wafer fabs in US, Singapore, and Germany. The candidate will be responsible for electrical characterization, yield analysis, and production lots disposition to drive product yield, line yield and manufacturing operations.

Your Job:

Production Sustaining: Monitoring electrical performance tends, disposition of holds at electrical and sort test, support general/urgent fab operational issues, scrap investigation, analysis for process change review boards Candidate will drive yield enhancement for multiple products by analyzing failing electrical parameters and rapidly data mining to investigate root causes and containing excursions and protecting supply Develop and improve yield characterization and data analysis methodologies to rapidly determine yield limiters, correlation to in-line defectivity and metrology, and electrical parametric signals Support process module engineering activities through electrical test, inline metrology, and yield analysis to improve cost, cycle-time, and manufacturing robustness Clear reporting and communication of issues to home teams on a daily basis Must be flexible in job assignment and ready to work on weekend shifts on a rotational basis as required by the business

Required Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech with 4-6 years or M.Sc./M.Tech. with 2-5 years of relevant experience in Electrical (Microelectronics)/ Electronics Engineering or Applied Physics
• Experience in high volume manufacturing preferably in semiconductors/ electronics industry in process module/ equipment (200mm/ 300mm) are strongly desired
• A strong working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC), Structured Problem Solving (SPS) skills and Failure Mode & Effect Analytical (FMEA) methods would be essential
• Good understanding of semiconductor process technology and devices
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively within a globally matrixed team or environment
• Organized, proactive, excellent analytical skills, on-time delivery of work assigned, and good verbal and written communication
• Good knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
• Scripting and coding skills (especially R and Python) are desirable
