Job summary

WSP India seeks an experienced groundwater modeller with 8+ years in hydrogeology to join the SWM Consulting (GCC) team. You will develop conceptual groundwater models, interpret hydrogeological data, and support bids/tenders for UK Water projected work.

You will collaborate with the UK team, manage data-rich datasets, and mentor junior staff while ensuring rigorous reporting and GIS outputs. Fluency in English and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Water Resources Engineering or equivalent required.
• 6+ years in UK water sector or flood risk management exposure desirable.
• Pursuing CIWEM accreditation or chartership within 1 year desirable.
• Strong knowledge of UK groundwater modelling, hydrogeology and geomorphology.
• Experience with groundwater modelling tools (MODFLOW, 4R, FEFLOW) and GIS desk-studies.
• Excellent English communication and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.

The SWM Consulting (GCC) team is seeking an experienced professional to join our growing groundwater team within the SWM Consulting Team (UK Water). You will have 8+ years of professional experience on hydrogeology, groundwater modelling and/or knowledge of UK water sector. You will be expected to work with the wider UK team on developing conceptual groundwater models, interpretation of hydrogeological and geological data, support the GCC team, assist on bids/tenders and taking ownership of other catchment studies for the UK. Responsibilities

• The candidate should have more than 8yrs of demonstrable working experience on MODFLOW and hydrogeology

• Excellent communication and to effectively liaise with the UK team as well as internal and external Clients

• Developing groundwater models, managing and interpretation of hydrogeological data

• Skills on using automation tools for pre and post processing of large datasets (familiarity with Python, VBA, R is desirable)

• Preparing detailed modeling reports, extraction of information from groundwater models, producing interactive reports/mapping and other GIS based outputs

• Works collaboratively within the team and proactively supports junior staff in developing their technical knowledge and understanding of tasks/projects assigned

• Welcomes more responsibility and has an ability to proactively manage professional development, seeking support from more senior staff where required

• Proactively contributes to the culture of safety, health and well-being of self and of individuals and the team; recognises the impact of what we do on the safety of others

• Communicates openly and keeps people informed, actively supporting a knowledge sharing and learning environment across WSP.

Qualifications

• Masters Degree in Water Resources Engineering or equivalent.

• Prior experience of flood risk management based projects, ideally with exposure to standards, specifications and software tools used in the UK Water Industry. A Minimum of 6+ years of relevant industry experience is desirable.

• Working towards professional accreditation with CIWEM or with an ability to get chartered within 1-year (Desirable)

• Strong working knowledge of on UK groundwater modelling, hydrogeology and geomorphology.

• Ability to work on own initiative on technical matters, ability/background in collaborating with other design disciplines on multi-disciplinary projects

• An ability to develop the GCC team and proactively take charge of recruitment and team building, technical development and mentoring.
