Job summary

Qualifications

• PhD/MS/MTec in CS/ML required or closely related field.
• 7 to 15 years of industry experience deploying ML models in production.
• Extensive experience with DL frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Strong Python programming and scalable backend knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development and deployment of advanced DL/ML models for ecommerce challenges (e.g., personalization, demand shaping).
• Mentor junior data scientists and ensure code quality, statistical rigour, and scalable architecture.
• Partner with Product Managers and Engineering Leaders to shape product roadmaps using data-driven insights.
• Review relevant literature, propose novel NLP/CV/generative AI solutions, and contribute to publications.

As a Principal Data Scientist, you will take end-to-end ownership of highly complex ML initiatives that impact core business metrics. You will act as the bridge between theoretical research and production-grade implementation. Operating with minimal supervision, you will drive the design of scalable models, mentor junior data scientists, and partner with product leaders to translate fuzzy business problems into concrete technical solutions.

Responsibilities:

• End-to-End Execution: Lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced deep learning and ML models to solve complex e-commerce challenges (e. g., personalisation, demand shaping).
• Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior data scientists, ensuring high standards for code quality, statistical rigour, and scalable architecture.
• Cross-Functional Strategy: Partner with Product Managers and Engineering Leaders to shape product roadmaps using data-driven insights.
• Applied Research: Review relevant literature, propose novel solutions to NLP, CV, or generative AI problems, and actively participate in publishing research.

Requirements:

• M. Tech, M. S., or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a closely related field.
• 7 to 15 years of industry experience with a proven track record of deploying large-scale machine learning solutions into production.
• Deep, hands-on expertise in Deep Learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) and complex algorithms.
• Exceptional programming skills in Python and an understanding of highly scalable backend architectures.

Optional Skills:

• Proven track record of publications in top-tier conferences (NeurIPS, ICML, ACL).
• Experience with MLOps, model monitoring, and automated deployment pipelines.
