Job summary

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure seeks a Principal Core Infrastructure Engineer to join the Access Control Ecosystem team. You will lead design, development, and operation of distributed infrastructure that scales, performs, and remains secure for a global cloud platform.

You will define scalable architectures, improve performance, and drive automation for safe deployment and recovery, while mentoring engineers and guiding technical direction across OCI.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and operation of scalable distributed infrastructure for OCI’s Access Control Ecosystem.
• Define scalability, performance, availability, and durability requirements for owned services and components.
• Build fault-tolerant systems with redundancy, replication, automated failover, and in-service upgrades.
• Optimize services for high-throughput, low-latency, and large-scale cloud workloads.
• Design systems that handle network unreliability, service disruptions, and partition scenarios while meeting SLOs.
• Establish telemetry, KPIs, dashboards, and alerts to monitor service health and customer impact.
• Drive performance testing, load testing, fault injection, brownout testing, and other validation strategies.
• Implement secure infrastructure controls for multi-tenant cloud environments, including access controls and encryption.
• Develop automation and tooling for safe patching, deployments, and recovery.
• Take ownership of production operations including incident response and root cause analysis.
• Strengthen runbooks and change management to improve deployment safety and recovery.
• Collaborate with partner teams across OCI to align architecture and dependencies.
• Mentor engineers, review designs, and raise engineering standards across the team.

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure is seeking a Principal Core Infrastructure Engineer to join the Access Control Ecosystem team.

The Access Control Ecosystem team builds and operates foundational services that enable secure access management across OCI. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and operation of distributed infrastructure components that must scale reliably, perform efficiently, and meet the security and availability expectations of a global cloud platform.

You will define and deliver scalable service architectures, improve performance and resiliency, strengthen telemetry and operational readiness, and drive automation for safe deployment, patching, recovery, and rollback. You will work closely with engineering teams across OCI to align on architecture, service reliability, and customer requirements, while also mentoring engineers and contributing to technical direction.

This role is ideal for an experienced infrastructure engineer with strong distributed systems expertise, proven operational ownership, and a track record of building secure, reliable cloud services at scale.

• Collaborate with partner teams across OCI to align architecture, dependencies, and service requirements.
• Mentor engineers, review technical designs, guide implementation decisions, and help raise the engineering bar across the team.
