Qualifications

• 2–6 years of experience in energy modelling or related consulting roles.
• BE or MS/M.Tech in Renewable Energy, Energy Systems, Power Systems, or Sustainability.
• Strong knowledge of power systems and energy markets; exposure to policy/regulatory contexts.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research on renewable energy technologies, costs, and policy provisions in Indian and international markets.
• Compile and analyze data on generators, costs, load forecasts, tenders, and costs trends.
• Support modelling and forecasting using optimization approaches (MILP, stochastic).
• Configure energy models, run simulations for capacity expansion and dispatch, and iterate results.
• Deliver outputs as dashboards, presentations, and reports to stakeholders.
• Present findings to internal and external stakeholders; support BD and outreach activities.

Designation: Consultant / Principal Consultant (Energy Transition – Modelling)

Educational Qualification: BE (Electrical/ Mechanical) and MS/M.Tech (Renewable Energy / Energy Systems / Power Systems / Energy Economics / Sustainability)

Experience: 2–6 Years

Job Profile:

• Conduct primary and secondary research and critical analysis related to renewable energy technology, costs, and policy / regulatory provisions in Indian as well as international markets.
• Undertake data compilation, tracking, and analysis of various parameters concerning renewable energy and energy markets such as generator characteristics, costs, load forecasts, tenders, cost trends etc.
• Support energy modelling and forecasting activities and projects using optimization tools, mixed-integer linear programming, stochastics, etc.
• Configure energy models and conduct simulations and iterations on capacity expansion, dispatch optimization, and stochastics for various use cases
• Responsible for end-to-end modelling effort of various use cases and projects
• Extract, analyze, and present outputs in the form of dashboards, presentations, and reports
• Deliver presentations to internal and external stakeholders
• Timely completion of the assigned tasks and provide timely support to team members
• Contribute to BD/outreach activities such as preparing concept notes, proposals, discussion papers, brochures, etc. and actively support in organizing/attending roundtables, workshops, and other types of stakeholder engagement.

Skill Set Required:

• Hands-on experience with energy modelling and optimization tools such as PLEXOS, GridPath, PSSE, etc.
• Strong quantitative, statistical, and analytical training with ability to think analytically / critically, give attention to detail, observe patterns/trends, and derive meaningful inferences
• Strong knowledge of power systems
• Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies, technical/financial/regulatory aspects of industry, power markets, etc.
• Strong Excel, presentation, writing, and articulation skills
• Proactive, self-driven, collaborative, and curious to learn

Skill Set Desired:

• Coding languages and tools (Python, R, MATLAB, VBA, etc.).
• Hands-on experience in using data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Excel etc.
