Qualifications

• Proven experience in data centres or digital infrastructure, ideally in engineering consultancy, advisory/due diligence, or owner/operator environments.
• Strong understanding of data centre design, power, cooling, redundancy, capacity planning, and resilience.
• Experience with technical due diligence or investment advisory for infrastructure assets.
• Ability to handle complex assignments and engage with senior stakeholders.
• Experience managing workstreams and delivering under tight deadlines.
• Strong communication and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
• Interest in growth of digital infrastructure and its role in global connectivity and AI/data-driven economies.

• Provide input into bids and pursuits, strengthening proposals with asset and demand insights.
• Work on cross-sector digital infrastructure projects including telecoms, fibre networks, and energy interfaces with DC assets.
• Engage with clients to present findings influencing investment and financing decisions.
• Participate in site visits and international projects as required.

The Investment and Transaction Advisory team at WSP is seeking an exceptional Principal Consultant to join our growing advisory team, focusing on technical due diligence in data centres and digital infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of technical and commercial due diligence assignments for investors, lenders, and developers across the data centre sector.
• Assess design basis and operational performance of data centres, including:
• Power infrastructure – grid connection, redundancy, backup systems
• Cooling systems – air/liquid cooling, energy efficiency
• IT load capacity and scalability
• Uptime / resilience standards (Tier classification)
• Support investment cases and business plans, including capex benchmarking, lifecycle costs, and expansion strategies.
• Advise on operational performance, asset management practices, and risk identification across portfolios.
• Provide technical and commercial input into bids and pursuits, strengthening proposals through robust asset and demand insights.
• Work on cross‑sector digital infrastructure projects, including telecoms, fibre networks, and energy interface with DC assets.
• Engage directly with clients, presenting findings that influence investment and financing decisions.
• Participate in site visits and international projects as required.

Qualifications
