Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Cloud Engineer with a strong background in Java, Spring Boot, and cloud-native architecture. This role is critical in driving the design, development, and scalability of cloud-based platforms, with a focus on Kubernetes-driven environments. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in distributed system design, hands-on experience with modern DevOps and GitOps practices, and strong proficiency in at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and architecture of scalable, high-performance cloud-native applications
• Develop and maintain microservices using Java and Spring Boot
• Drive system design decisions, ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance
• Architect and manage Kubernetes-based deployments across cloud environments
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using Argo CD and Helm
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust and secure cloud solutions
• Optimize application performance, cost efficiency, and operational reliability
• Mentor and guide engineering teams on best practices in cloud architecture and development
• Ensure adherence to DevOps, GitOps, and infrastructure-as-code principles

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of overall software engineering experience
• Strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot development
• Proven experience in designing and building distributed systems and microservices architectures
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (mandatory) in production environments
• Strong working knowledge of Helm and Argo CD (mandatory)
• Deep experience in at least one cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Strong understanding of cloud-native patterns, scalability, and resilience design
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments
• Familiarity with service mesh technologies (e.g., Istio)
• Exposure to observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.)
• Experience in high-scale enterprise environments
