This senior role sits in Enterprise Systems & Security and anchors scalable, secure foundations for hybrid terrestrial-satellite connectivity. The role requires 15+ years in cloud architecture, deep AWS/GCP proficiency, and IAM/API management experience, with onsite work in Bengaluru (3 days a week).

Qualifications

• 15+ years in cloud architecture and infrastructure management.
• Proficient designing/maintaining complex cloud environments (AWS or GCP).
• Advanced certifications in AWS or GCP cloud architectures.
• Hands-on IAM, API management (Apigee), and automation tools.
• Ability to lead complex tech initiatives and mentor engineers.
• Experience in telecom/satellite networks is a plus.
• Active daily use of AI tools in workflows.

Skylo is a global Non-Terrestrial Network service provider based in Mountain View, CA, offering a service that allows smartphone and IoT cellular devices to connect directly over existing satellites. Summary of How You Will Impact Skylo

Skylo is hiring a Principal Cloud Architect to help fulfill Skylo’s mission of making satellite connectivity available to all. As a senior leader within the Enterprise Systems & Security team, you will be the technical authority responsible for the robust cloud, data, and AI infrastructure that powers our global operations. You will design and implement the scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud foundations that enable our hybrid network connectivity to roam seamlessly between terrestrial and satellite networks.

How You Will Contribute

• Cloud Architecture & Strategy: Design and implement robust, scalable, and reliable cloud-based solutions while developing long-term strategies that align with Skylo’s global business goals.
• Infrastructure Optimization: Oversee cloud infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and availability, identifying continuous opportunities to enhance resource utilization.
• Cloud Security & Compliance: Establish and maintain rigorous security protocols for cloud resources (GCP/AWS), ensuring compliance with industry standards and safeguarding our digital assets.
• Cost Management: Lead cost optimization initiatives, including monitoring, rightsizing, and identifying underutilized resources to reduce infrastructure overhead.
• IAM & API Management: Streamline Identity and Access Management (IAM) policies and optimize API management workflows and costs using Apigee or alternative platforms.
• Disaster Recovery: Design and implement high-availability disaster recovery and backup strategies to minimize downtime and ensure service continuity.
• Technology Leadership: Serve as a subject matter expert, staying ahead of cloud technology advancements to provide recommendations that enhance Skylo's internal platform services.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with development, operations, and business teams to ensure the seamless delivery of cloud services across our 24x7 commercial network.
