Job summary

Ascendion is seeking a Senior Python Architect in Bengaluru to design and deliver scalable Python services, REST APIs, and data integrations. The role focuses on modernizing legacy systems, implementing ADRs, NFRs, and engineering standards, with strong emphasis on AWS, React integration, and robust CI/CD pipelines.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years in software engineering, 4+ years in senior architect roles, and deep expertise in Python, FastAPI, PL/SQL, Oracle DB, and AWS services.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering with 4+ years in a senior architect role.
• Proficiency with Python 3.10+ and design fundamentals.
• Strong knowledge of FastAPI, Pydantic, and ASGI.
• Experience with PL/SQL and Oracle database.

Responsibilities

• Designing and building REST APIs with FastAPI
• Working with asynchronous programming and long‑running job execution
• Reading, reverse‑engineering, and translating large PL/SQL codebases
• Data modeling and query optimization in Oracle database
• Designing, deploying, and running Python services on AWS
• Integrating with React front end and maintaining clean API contracts
• Modernizing and migrating legacy systems to modern Python services
• Setting target‑state design, NFRs, ADRs, and engineering standards
• Utilizing Git/GitHub, CI/CD, automated testing, and containerization
• Leading software engineering projects as a senior architect
