Job summary

Hitachi Energy India Limited is seeking an Electrical Engineer with 3–7 years of experience in primary design/engineering of GIS substations. You will handle base design, SLDs, BOMs, 3D modeling, and SAP MM workflows, ensuring compliance with IEC/IEEE standards and quality milestones.

You will collaborate with project teams, participate in kickoff and design reviews, and contribute to margin improvements while delivering high-quality engineering documentation on time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with 3-7 years of experience in primary design/engineering of substations, preferably GIS.
• Knowledge of IEC/IEEE/IS standards.
• Hands-on experience in 3D tools like ProE/CREO, AUTOCAD-3D, MS Office.
• Hands-on SAP MM module experience.
• GIS project execution knowledge is useful.
• MV/HV substations design & engineering knowledge.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Participate in technical kickoff handover meetings with Project Manager/Tendering.
• Read customer specifications and compliance reports per requirements.
• Define milestone deliverables (Base Design / BOM / Detail Design).
• Prepare Electrical and Gas SLD, Plan and Section drawings per offers and specs.
• Model 3D GIS for substation configurations.
• Prepare GTPs for GIS/HV equipment for customer submission.
• Deliver detail design tasks (rating plates, cables, earthing, civil).
• Support DtV in base design phase.
• Contribute to project margin improvement.
• Ensure on-time milestone delivery as per database.
• Prepare SD BOMs and release SAP milestones.
• Prepare procurement docs for CTs and VTs.
• Participate in customer meetings and project reviews.
• Support troubleshooting and disposition actions.

How you’ll make an impact

• Participate in the Technical Kick off handover meetings with Project Manager / Tendering
• Read through the customer specifications and compliance reports as per the customer requirements.
• Define the milestone deliverables (Base Design / BOM / Detail Design) as per the project requirement.
• Preparation of Electrical and Gas SLD, Plan and Section drawings based on various offer / tender and customer specifications.
• Preparation of 3D modelling of high voltage GIS for various substation configuration
• Preparation of Guaranteed technical particulars of GIS and HV equipment such as Breakers, disconnectors, GIB etc. for submission to customer.
• Delivering all the Detail Design Tasks (Rating plates / Cable / Earthing / Civil requirements / As Built etc)
• Execute DtV Process during the Base design phase.
• Contribute to the Margin improvement of the Project.
• Accountable for the On Quality Delivery of the milestones of the project as per the Milestone database
• Preparation of bill of materials (SD BOMs) and release in the SAP as per the Milestone database.Preparation of technical documents for procurement of Current transformers and voltage transformers.
• Participate in customer meetings as required. Active participation in project review meeting
• Supports trouble shooting for factory and onsite issues and provides disposition actions.
• Can do proper root causing analysis for the quality issues.

Your background

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with 3-7 years of experience in primary design/engineering of substations, preferably GIS Engineering.
• Knowledge on IEC/IEEE/IS standards.
• Hands on experience in 3D tools like ProE / CREO, AUTOCAD-3D, MSOffice.
• Hands on experience of SAP system (MM module)
• Expertise in GIS Project execution process knowledge will be an added advantage.
• MV/HV substations Design & Engineering knowledge
• Proficiency in both spoken & written English language.
