Job summary

Technoscope Infotech is seeking a seasoned Electrical Design Engineer to lead infrastructure projects, especially data centers. You will draw SLDs, LLDs and layouts, and prepare BOMs and cost estimates. Collaborate with sales to craft technical proposals and respond to RFQs.

The role requires 5+ years of relevant experience, strong knowledge of LT/HT networks, and proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office. Prior data-center experience is highly preferred.

Role & responsibilities

Design & Engineering

• Develop comprehensive electrical infrastructure designs and layouts tailored to intricate project specifications and architectural drawings.
• Architect and design robust electrical distribution systems, encompassing LT/HT systems, transformers, DG systems, UPS, panels, cable routing, and earthing infrastructure.
• Draft precise Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), Low level diagram (LLD), High level diagram (HLD), electrical layouts, load schedules, and cable schedules.

Pre-Sales & Proposal Management

• Review and meticulously analyze tender documents, RFQs, specifications, and scope of work to distill key technical and commercial mandates.
• Formulate detailed Bill of Quantities (BOQ), Bill of Materials (BOM), material take-offs, and accurate cost estimates.
• Craft compelling technical proposals, compliance statements, and scope documents, presenting sophisticated solutions to clients.
• Collaborate seamlessly with the sales force to qualify opportunities, evaluate customer requirements, and recommend optimal electrical infrastructure solutions.
• Identify technical risks, forecast project requirements, and analyze potential cost implications during the bidding phase.

Vendor & Stakeholder Collaboration

• Liaise with OEM vendors and suppliers to secure technical data, product specifications, and competitive quotations.
• Conduct thorough technical and commercial evaluations of vendor proposals to ensure alignment with project standards.
• Provide authoritative technical support during client engagements, presentations, technical negotiations, and clarification meetings.
• Perform site surveys and facilitate technical discussions with clients to capture precise on-ground requirements.
• Ensure a seamless handover of technical documentation and scope details to the execution/project teams post-award.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

• Ensure all infrastructure designs strictly adhere to relevant electrical standards, safety codes, and bespoke project specifications.
• Validate designs, calculations, estimates, and BOQs rigorously prior to client submission.
• Maintain and update centralized design templates, costing databases, and technical proposal archives.

Preferred candidate profile

Required Qualifications & Competencies

• Education: Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Experience: 5+ years of demonstrable experience in electrical design, pre-sales estimation, and infrastructure planning, specifically within data centers, industrial projects, or similar sectors.
• Technical Mastery: Deep understanding of electrical distribution networks and infrastructure systems.
• Software Proficiency: Highly proficient in AutoCAD and the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving capabilities with an aptitude for translating complex technical requirements into practical, cost-effective solutions.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven track record of effective client handling and presentation.
• Domain Expertise: Prior experience focused on Data Centre Electrical Infrastructure is highly preferred and will be considered a significant advantage.
