Role Profile
- Leads generation across markets and verticals at early stages via proactive customer engagements and tracking project pipelines and investments.
- Adequate knowledge on parameters of Power system networks, Primary and Secondary Medium voltage Air/Gas insulated switchgear, Automation systems and protection functions.
- Presales engagement with effective prescription actions for RTUs/ FRTUs, Substation Automation System (both transmission and distribution substations), secondary distribution automation, Digital substation (Process bus applications), Microgrid, Automation systems in medium voltage systems (AIS/GIS), IoT/ Digitalization across customers in Power utilities (Public / Private), Industries, consultants & Infra segment.
- Presentations / Demonstrations / Trainings / Proof of concept installation (RTU’s, FRTU, SAS solutions / workshops to customers on overall portfolio offerings and automation technical topics/IED’s).
- Ensure product approvals from key influencers, including technical consultants, government utilities and bodies, and major customers, by leveraging a persuasive, collaborative, and consultative selling approach.
- Initiate and manage the complete vendor registration and homologation process for all Protection & Automation products and solutions across various utilities, industrial sectors, data centres, consultants, and infrastructure customers. Accountable for all technical aspects of registration and homologation, ensuring compliance and seamless coordination with internal stakeholders.
- Ensure support to sales teams throughout the opportunity cycle by driving prescription actions and technical support for major projects and key customers.
- Technical prescription activities & USP promotion (for RTU’s, FRTU’s and Substation Automation Systems solutions) with close engagements and leveraging the strengths of our portfolio.
- Gather market knowledge on competitor products & strategies for their strengths & weaknesses.
- Plan for customer visits, maintain interaction with all customer segments, carrying out spec‑in activity in the region.
- Identify new customers for conversion to SIEMENS for business & maximizing the market share. Candidates should be prepared to travel extensively.
- Collaborate with Siemens HQ colleagues to analyze automation products/solutions, identify areas for improvement, and assess product gaps in comparison to other make products/solutions.
- Participation in events, fairs and customer days to promote the portfolio.
What we are looking for
- The candidate holds a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from a reputed institute.
- 10–14 years of relevant experience in substation automation systems, RTU & FRTU selection, configuration, testing & commissioning. Experience in configuration, testing & commissioning of Substation Automation System for medium voltage, HV and EHV substations.
- Hands‑on experience with configuration and testing of RTU’s/FRTU’s and SAS for HV/EHV substations. Adequate knowledge of communication protocols IEC 61850, MODBUS, GOOSE, IEC 60870‑5‑104, DNP3 TCP, Modbus TCP, Synchrophasor (IEEE C37.118‑IP) and redundancy protocols: Line Mode, RSTP, HSR, PRP.
- Substantial experience in developing automation system schemes, complex RTU/FRTU logics and communications network architecture, including integration of required third‑party products/IED’s.
- Testing & commissioning/ on‑site experience for RTU’s/FRTU’s, SAS for medium voltage and HV/EHV substations.
- Knowledge of RTU/FRTU type tests.
- Adequate knowledge and working experience of various cyber‑security standards/protocols/functions/features in protection relays, RTU/FRTU and Substation Automation Systems.
- Expertise in IEC standards on substation automation systems and cyber‑security standards on SAS.
- Knowledgeable on sustainability objectives & benefits of digitalisation solutions would be advantageous.
- Demonstrable record of developing and maintaining customer relationships.
- Self‑starter, goal‑driven with a strong desire to succeed.
- Learning as a key competence, consultative approach towards business generation in the energy domain.
- Good verbal & written communication skills.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel & PowerPoint with impressive presentation skills.
- Readiness to travel across regions/states in India.
