Job summary

GE Vernova, Inc. in India seeks a Project/Design Engineer with 3+ years in VSDS-based projects across Industry, Marine, Oil & Gas, and Power domains. You will perform engineering, sizing, and system design for VSD/SFC solutions and prepare vendor specifications.

Role requires knowledge of international standards, strong problem solving, and ability to collaborate with multiple teams while adhering to EHS policies. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Masters or Bachelor's degree in Electrical, required.
• 3+ years of experience in Project/Design Engineering for VSDS-based projects in Industry/Marine/Oil & Gas/Power domains.
• Proficiency with international standards and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic and detailed engineering for VSDS-based projects.
• Engineer MV/LV VSD systems for Oil & Gas and Industry.
• Analyze system design and provide VSD/SFC-based solutions.
• Prepare vendor specs and review vendor documentation.
• Identify technical risks and define mitigation plans.
• Ensure compliance with EHS policies and procedures.

Job description

Essential Responsibilities

• Basic and Detailed engineering for VSDS based projects.
• Engineering for MV/ LV VSD based system on Oil & Gas and Industry projects.
• Engineering for SFC based system on Oil & Gas and Industry projects.
• Knowledge on component sizing like VSD, SFC, Transformer, Motor and other power system equipment's.
• Perform System design and Analysis for VSD and SFC based solutions.
• Support Business Verticals in creating and reviewing (in conjunction with the leadership team) systems solutions as part of the ITO/OTR process, ensuring that solutions are technically fit for purpose and that technical risk is understood and managed with contingencies identified.
• Analyze customer's contract, prepare specifications to vendors and internal stake holders
• Prepare technical documentation as per contractual requirements, vendor documentation review
• Identify technical risks and put in place the mitigation plan
• Review solutions developed and identify opportunities for improvement of process, system, or equipment
• Ensure strict compliance with all company and customers EHS policies and procedures
• Identify and propose improvements in processes, tools, system solutions and technologies, rolling out improvements when agreed with leadership team
• Foster relationship with other GE Vernova business entities to maximize the benefits of synergies
• Liaise with Platform Engineering, Technology and Value Engineering, and Supply Chain as appropriate to support the project and the business
• Liaise with other GE Vernova businesses, platform verticals, supply chain, sub-contractors and suppliers as appropriate to support the project and the business
• Drive lean mind set to provide optimum technical solutions for the projects

Qualifications / Requirements

• Masters / Bachelor's in Electrical from reputed College/University
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Project/ Design Engineering for projects based on VSDS for Industry /Marine / Oil & Gas / Power domains
• Knowledge and application of International Standards
• Ability to adapt and multitask with project/application engineers
• Analytical and innovative approach in problem solving
• Proficiency in MS Office applications
• PLM, Primavera experience are added advantage
