Job summary

Talent for Professionals is seeking a Medior to Senior Power BI Developer/Consultant in Chennai to deliver reporting and analytics as part of a second enterprise data lake for a global FMCG/CPG client.

You will transform data from Azure, Databricks and SAP S/4HANA into trusted semantic models, dashboards and reports, working with stakeholders, data engineers and data architects to translate business needs into actionable analytics.

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on Power BI development in enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

• Gather and clarify reporting requirements with stakeholders across sales, supply chain, procurement, manufacturing and finance.
• Develop and maintain Power BI semantic models, dashboards and reports using data from the Azure data platform.
• Connect Power BI to curated datasets in Databricks and the data lake, selecting appropriate connectivity and refresh approaches.
• Create efficient data models, relationships, DAX measures and Power Query transformations.
• Work with Data Engineers to define the datasets, business rules and transformations required for reporting.
• Translate SAP S/4HANA business data into clear reporting structures and consistent KPI definitions.
• Validate reports and reconcile results against agreed source-system figures and business rules.
• Optimise model performance, report responsiveness and refresh processes.
• Implement row-level security, workspace access and appropriate publishing controls.
• Support testing, deployment, documentation, user training and ongoing report maintenance.

About the Role

We are seeking a Medior to Senior Power BI Developer / Consultant to deliver reporting and analytics solutions as part of the implementation of a second enterprise data lake within a global FMCG/CPG organisation.

Working closely with business stakeholders, Data Engineers and Data Architects, you will transform curated data from Azure, Databricks and SAP S/4HANA into trusted semantic models, dashboards and reports. The role requires strong technical Power BI expertise alongside the ability to understand business processes and translate reporting needs into practical analytical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Required Experience and Expertise

• Proven hands-on experience developing Power BI solutions in an enterprise environment.
• Strong expertise in DAX, Power Query, SQL and dimensional data modelling.
• Experience with Power BI Service, semantic models, refresh configuration and row-level security.
• Experience consuming data from Azure-based platforms, including Azure Databricks and data lake environments.
• Experience reporting on SAP S/4HANA data, with an understanding of relevant business processes and data relationships.
• Experience in the FMCG/CPG industry.
• Ability to define and validate business KPIs across areas such as sales performance, inventory, service levels, supply chain, procurement or finance.
• Experience troubleshooting data discrepancies and improving report and model performance.
• Strong stakeholder communication skills and the ability to turn business requirements into clear, usable reports.

Preferred Experience

• Experience introducing reporting on a newly implemented data lake.
• Familiarity with Power BI deployment pipelines, version control and governed self-service reporting.
• Experience with incremental refresh and selecting appropriate Import or DirectQuery approaches.
• Exposure to global reporting, multiple currencies and shared KPI definitions.
• Experience supporting user acceptance testing and business adoption.
