Ashvad Tech in India is seeking a Power BI specialist to build dashboards and the underlying data model, ensuring trusted numbers through robust reconciliation. You will craft DAX calculations, data transformations with Power Query, and deliver interactive reports for business stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building interactive Power BI dashboards, KPIs, and reports.
• Strong data modelling knowledge: relationships, measures, star schema, and dimensional modelling.
• Advanced DAX for complex calculations, time intelligence, and metrics.
• Experience with Power Query (M) for data extraction, cleansing, and merging from multiple sources.
• Experience with SQL databases and writing queries for data extraction and validation.
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL/ELT processes.

Responsibilities

• Design visually effective dashboards with KPIs, filters, slicers, and interactive visuals.
• Publish reports to Power BI Service, manage workspaces, refresh schedules, and security.
• Implement Row-Level Security and data access controls.
• Connect Power BI to SQL Server, Excel, CSV, APIs, SharePoint and other data sources.
• Support data quality, reconciliation, and performance optimization of reports.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into analytics solutions.

Job Summary

Build the dashboards the business decides on - the model underneath them, the DAX that makes them mean something, and the reconciliation that has to hold before anyone trusts a number.

Responsibilities

Power BI and DAX

• Excellent hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI for developing interactive dashboards, analytical reports, KPIs, charts, and management reports.
• Strong experience in Power BI data modelling, including relationships, calculated columns, measures, star schema, and dimensional modelling concepts.
• Excellent knowledge of DAX for creating complex business calculations, measures, KPIs, time-intelligence calculations, and analytical metrics.
• Strong experience with Power Query (M) for data extraction, cleansing, transformation, merging, and integration from multiple data sources.

Dashboards and Delivery

• Experience in designing visually effective and user-friendly dashboards with appropriate KPIs, drill-downs, filters, slicers, bookmarks, tooltips, and interactive visualizations.
• Experience with Power BI Service, including publishing reports, workspaces, dashboards, refresh schedules, data gateways, and access/security management.
• Good understanding of Row-Level Security (RLS) and implementing appropriate data access controls in Power BI.

Data, SQL and Quality

• Good understanding of SQL databases and ability to write SQL queries for data extraction, validation, aggregation, and analysis.
• Experience in connecting Power BI with various data sources such as SQL Server, Excel, CSV, APIs, SharePoint, and other business systems.
• Good understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL/ELT processes, data pipelines, and data quality practices.
• Should have strong understanding of data accuracy, reconciliation, validation, and report performance optimization.

Excel and Reporting

• Excellent working experience with Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas, PivotTables, PivotCharts, Power Query, Power Pivot, conditional formatting, and dashboard creation.
• Experience in automating recurring reports and reducing manual Excel-based reporting processes using Power BI and Excel will be an added advantage.

Analysis and Communication

• Strong logical, analytical, and problem-solving skills with an eagerness to learn new technologies and business domains.
• Should be able to analyse large datasets, identify trends and patterns, and convert business requirements into meaningful dashboards and actionable insights.
• Ability to work closely with business stakeholders, understand reporting requirements, and translate them into scalable and maintainable analytical solutions.
• Should have excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify inconsistencies or anomalies in business data.
• Good communication skills with the ability to explain data, reports, KPIs, and analytical findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
