Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services in Bengaluru is looking for a hands-on PostgreSQL Database Developer to strengthen our data platform. You will design, implement and optimize complex PostgreSQL schemas, procedures and data models.

The role requires deep expertise in SQL/PLpgSQL, indexing, partitioning and performance tuning, plus familiarity with MVCC, WAL and CI/CD in cloud environments. Collaboration with agile teams and regular code reviews are expected.

Qualifications

• Hands-on development with PostgreSQL databases.
• Strong expertise in PostgreSQL, SQL and PL/pgSQL.
• Experience with stored procedures, triggers, views and materialized views.
• Ability to analyze execution plans with EXPLAIN ANALYZE.
• Solid knowledge of MVCC, WAL, Vacuum and Autovacuum.
• Experience with indexing, partitioning, normalization, and DB design.
• Knowledge of backup & recovery, replication, high availability, DR.
• Experience with JSON/JSONB.
• Familiarity with Git, Agile/Scrum, and CI/CD.
• Exposure to cloud-hosted PostgreSQL preferred.
