Job summary

Job description

What role you will play in our team

We are expanding our Technology Centre in Bengaluru and looking for passionate individuals with excellence and a competitive "win" mindset to drive change in our business and who enjoy working in dynamic, collaborative, and diverse global teams. This position is for an experienced Polymers Process Engineer with at least ten years of experience in polyolefins or elastomers polymerization and finishing processes. The role is based in Bengaluru and may require international business travel depending on business needs. Flexibility to work across different time zones is essential. This position is not at a manufacturing facility.

What you will do

As a Process Engineer, you will take a leading role in developing and implementing process engineering improvement ideas for polyolefins and elastomer manufacturing processes including reaction, separation, recovery, extrusion, palletization, solids handling, devocalization, wet rubber finishing, and packaging operations. You will establish robust tools for polymer sites to identify and advance improvement ideas for their manufacturing units, prioritize projects, and support business decisions. We are expanding our group’s expertise in polymerization and finishing process technology, such as polyolefins and elastomer polymerization and finishing, process optimization, and the use of tools like process simulation/modeling to enhance the process. We are looking for a minimum of ten years experienced individuals who will play a key role in the process engineering related tasks.

  • Work in a supportive and collaborative environment focused on delivering value to the business
  • Develop robust tools for process modeling / optimizations to meet various business needs
  • Enhance the efficiency and reliability of polyolefins / elastomer processes
  • Support manufacturing assets improvement activities including but not limited to development of design basis and lead / support manufacturing trials
  • Take ownership of assigned tasks and initiate sustainable implementations
  • Stay current with developments in process simulation tools and seek new solutions to enhance profitability
  • Influence decision-making by introducing new ideas, enhancements, and improvements to existing finishing processes
  • Mentor and develop young engineers
About You

To be eligible for this role, you must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.E. / B. Tech) or higher in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline from an AICTE recognized university
  • At least ten years of experience in polyolefins or elastomers process manufacturing
  • Minimum ten years of experience in Utilities and offsites, Process Design, Engineering, Technical Services roles in either Upstream, Refinery, Downstream Petrochemical or Low Carbon Solutions industry
  • Authorization to work in India
  • Willingness and ability to travel or relocate as required, including internationally
  • Skilled in identifying opportunities within existing process conditions and implementing improvement ideas
  • Deep understanding of fundamental polyolefins / elastomer process engineering and troubleshooting
  • Ability to handle workload efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards and adapting to shifting priorities
Preference will be given to those with the following additional skills / abilities

Hands‑on experience in process modelling/simulation tools

  • Highly motivated team player who builds trust and contributes to a positive team dynamic
  • Strong communicator with the ability to convey information clearly, listen actively, and tailor messages to different audiences
  • Skilled in building successful working relationships in a virtual environment
  • Demonstrates cultural sensitivity within the context of a multicultural and globally distributed team
  • Capable of effectively self‑prioritizing activities and demonstrating personal flexibility within the team environment to achieve business objectives
  • Strong organizational, planning, coordination, interface, and technical judgment skills, able to interface with non‑engineering disciplines to achieve common objectives
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects in full or limited capacity, such as area lead or process lead roles
  • Experience mentoring junior process engineers is advantageous
  • Willing and able to travel or relocate domestically and internationally as per business need
  • Should not have attended an interview for any position with ExxonMobil in the last one year
