Qualificações

• 6-12 years of professional experience in political communications, public relations, media management, journalism, or strategic communications.
• Excellent proficiency in Marathi, including strong verbal and written communication. Proficiency in Hindi and English is desirable.
• Strong understanding of Maharashtra's political landscape, regional media ecosystem, socio-cultural dynamics, and current affairs.
• Experience working with senior political leaders, public figures, government officials, or senior organisational leadership is highly desirable.
• Proven ability to manage teams, coordinate multiple stakeholders, and deliver in fast-pressure environments.
• Strong writing, interpersonal communication, stakeholder management, and crisis communication skills.
• High levels of discretion, professional judgment, confidentiality, and adaptability.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced communications professional to work closely with a senior political leader in Maharashtra. The individual will be responsible for leading the leader's overall communications, public relations, media engagement, and public positioning initiatives. This is a high-impact leadership role requiring close day-to-day interaction with the political leader, an understanding of Maharashtra's political and socio-cultural landscape, and the ability to manage a dedicated team of communications and media professionals.

Key Responsibilities

1. Leadership Communications & Public Positioning

• Work closely with the political leader on day-to-day communications, public engagements, speeches, statements, and media interactions.
• Develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies aligned with the leader's priorities and public initiatives.
• Ensure consistency, clarity, and accuracy across public communications.

2. Media Relations & Public Relations

• Build and maintain relationships with journalists, editors, media houses, and other relevant stakeholders across Maharashtra.
• Oversee press releases, media briefs, interviews, press conferences, and other media engagements.
• Monitor media coverage, emerging narratives, political developments, and public issues.
• Coordinate timely responses to media queries, controversies, and emerging developments.

3. Communications Strategy & Content Oversight

• Lead the development of speeches, talking points, public statements, presentations, and other communication materials.
• Oversee communications across traditional media, digital platforms, and public engagements.
• Collaborate with research, digital, creative, and political strategy teams to ensure alignment and factual consistency.

4. Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management

• Build, lead, and manage a dedicated team of communications, PR, and media professionals.
• Coordinate closely with the political leader's office, senior advisors, and internal teams to ensure seamless execution.
• Establish processes for content development, approvals, media coordination, and communication planning.

Candidate Requirements

• 6-12 years of professional experience, preferably in political communications, public relations, media management, journalism, or strategic communications.
• Excellent proficiency in Marathi, including strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in Hindi and English is desirable.
• Strong understanding of Maharashtra's political landscape, regional media ecosystem, socio-cultural dynamics, and current affairs.
• Experience working closely with senior political leaders, public figures, government officials, or senior organisational leadership is highly desirable.
