Tungsten Automation is seeking a Platform Operations Engineer to help deliver our internal cloud platform on Azure and AWS from Hyderabad. The role focuses on reusable, secure platform components, automation, observability, and seamless developer experience.

Expect collaboration across R&D, Cloud Security, SRE, and Cloud Operations with a strong emphasis on documentation and iterative improvement. You will contribute to planning, provide onboarding content, and mentor the Cloud Operations team

Qualifikationen

• Hands-on experience delivering infrastructure or platform engineering in cloud-native environments.
• Proficient in Terraform and IaC; working knowledge of CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps.
• Experience with programming languages such as Java, C#, or C++ for tooling.
• Strong knowledge of cloud services in Azure and/or AWS.
• Experience with Kubernetes and cluster provisioning; workload identity.
• Scripting and automation experience (Python, PowerShell, Bash).

• Able to document and deliver structured, reusable platform components.
• Experience prompting AI systems and using AI for development efficiency.

Job Purpose

As a Cloud Platform Engineer, you are part of the team responsible for delivering the internal cloud platform that enables our SaaS product teams to build, deploy, and operate reliably in Azure and AWS. This role focuses on building platform capabilities that are reusable, secure, observable, and easy to consume. You will engage in full lifecycle delivery from implementation and automation to hardening, supportability, and continuous improvement.

You’ll be working in an enablement team that treats platform components as versioned products, with stable interfaces, high documentation standards, and a relentless focus on reducing cognitive load and operational friction for R&D, Cloud Security, SRE and Cloud Operations teams. You will collaborate with these users to ensure consistent and efficient use of the platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver modular, secure, and reusable infrastructure components using Terraform, backed by automation pipelines and telemetry.
• Implement platform capabilities such as Kubernetes clusters, ingress, networking, observability, data services, and identity integrations as standardized building blocks.
• Embed operational resilience logging, metrics, alerting as default characteristics of the platform.
• Integrate cloud security and compliance requirements (e.g., IAM boundaries, encryption, audit readiness) into the delivery pipeline in collaboration with the Cloud Security Operations team.
• Develop internal APIs, CLI tools, or service wrappers that simplify infrastructure consumption and improve developer experience.
• Maintain and evolve platform components through versioning, lifecycle policies, and continuous refactoring based on telemetry and platform feedback.
• Providing documentation, usage examples, and onboarding guides is essential to facilitate the adoption of a platform and reduce the support burden. The ability to share knowledge and create comprehensive documentation are fundamental skills for a cloud platform engineer.
• Participate in planning, refinement, and technical review sessions to align with platform architecture and cross-functional delivery priorities.
• Act as a mentor and enabler for the Cloud Operations team members
• Utilize AI-enabled tools (e.g., chatbots, documentation automation, analytics assistants) to improve efficiency, accuracy, and streamline routine tasks while following company AI governance and data privacy standards

• Solid hands-on experience in infrastructure delivery or platform engineering roles in a cloud-native environment
• Proficient with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code practices, working knowledge of CI/CD (e.g., GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)
• Experience developing tooling or platform components using a higher-level programming language such as Java, C#, or C++
• Strong understanding of cloud services in Azure and/or AWS
• Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration; familiarity with cluster provisioning and workload identity
• Knowledge of securing infrastructure components and implementing policy-as-code.
• Scripting and automation experience (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash)
• Familiarity with observability concepts (logs, metrics, traces) and how to make them first-class in infrastructure
• Strong collaboration and documentation skills; able to deliver structured solutions with a product mindset
• Skills in prompting AI systems and assessing output quality
• Ability to leverage AI to ideate, develop and scale to the needs of the department

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building internal platforms, golden paths, or self-service developer experiences.
• Familiarity with GitOps workflows
• Exposure to policy-as-code frameworks and configuration hardening standards (e.g., CIS benchmarks).
• Experience working in regulated environments (SOC 2, ISO 27001, FedRAMP) and integrating compliance into infrastructure delivery.
• Understanding of platform SLOs, Error budgets, operational maturity models, and infrastructure lifecycle thinking.
