Hudson Manpower is hiring a Planning Engineer for Transmission Line and Substation projects in India. The role focuses on PMC planning and project controls for 400 kV+ transmission lines and substations, spanning from engineering through energisation, with multiple site locations.

The ideal candidate has 8–12 years in HV project planning, is proficient in Primavera P6 and MS Project, and is comfortable coordinating with contractors, clients, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure on-time project

Responsibilities

• Act as the PMC planning representative for transmission line and substation packages
• Review contractor schedules including WBS, baseline schedules, activity logic, durations, calendars, constraints and milestones
• Develop and maintain integrated schedules covering engineering, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, energisation and handover
• Establish and monitor progress measurement methods based on BOQ and contractual milestones
• Prepare and review daily, weekly, monthly, two-week and three-month look-ahead schedules
• Prepare and monitor S-curves, resource histograms and milestone trackers
• Verify contractor-reported progress against site records and coordinate with project teams
• Monitor critical and near-critical paths and identify delays
• Recommend corrective actions and acceleration measures
• Track drawings, long-lead materials, manufacturing, dispatch and site readiness
• Support extension-of-time and delay claim assessments
• Prepare MIS reports, dashboards, schedule narratives, risk registers and forecasts
• Present planning updates in management/project review meetings

We are currently hiring experienced Planning Engineers for a permanent PMC (Project Management Consultancy) role with exposure to 400 kV and above Transmission Line and Substation Projects.

Role Purpose

The Planning Engineer will work as a PMC Planning Representative and will be responsible for establishing, reviewing, monitoring, and controlling integrated project schedules for high-voltage transmission line and substation packages.

The role will involve close coordination with contractors, client teams, engineering, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning teams to ensure timely project execution and accurate progress reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the PMC planning representative for transmission line and substation packages.

• Review contractor WBS, baseline schedules, activity logic, durations, calendars, constraints, milestones, and resource loading.

• Develop and maintain integrated schedules covering:

  • Engineering

  • Procurement

  • Construction

  • Testing

  • Commissioning

  • Energisation

  • Handover

• Establish and monitor progress measurement methods based on BOQ, Schedule of Values, contractual milestones, and verified site quantities.

• Prepare and review daily, weekly, monthly, two-week and three-month look-ahead schedules.

• Prepare and monitor S-curves, resource histograms and milestone trackers.

• Verify contractor-reported physical progress against actual site records and coordinate with engineering, procurement and construction teams.

• Monitor critical and near-critical paths and identify delays, slippages and constraints.

• Recommend corrective actions, recovery schedules and acceleration measures.

• Coordinate with multiple stakeholders to ensure timely completion of project milestones.

Required Project Experience

Candidates must have hands‑on planning/project‑controls experience in:

• 400 kV and above Transmission Line Projects

• 400 kV and above AIS/GIS Substation Projects

• High-voltage power transmission projects

• Substation civil, structural, electrical and commissioning activities

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in PMC, Owner’s Engineer, Client-side or EPC project environments.

• Reconciling reported progress with actual site progress

• Identifying critical and emerging delays

• Preparing recovery plans

• Monitoring procurement and construction interfaces

• Forecasting project completion

• Preparing accurate MIS and management reports

• Coordinating with contractors, clients and multiple project stakeholders

Candidate Eligibility

Mandatory:

• 8–12 years of relevant Planning / Project Controls experience

• Experience in 400 kV+ Transmission Line and/or Substation Projects

• Good knowledge of Primavera P6 / MS Project

• Strong project scheduling and progress-monitoring experience

• Willingness to work at Kutch / Jamnagar / Mumbai / Pune

• Must be comfortable with any project location based on business requirement

• Willing to join a permanent role
