About the job Plan and Estimation Engineer

The Plan and Estimation Engineer is responsible for estimating and planning the engineering resources required to deliver new products, enhancements, and bug fixes. This includes understanding the engineering process, understanding the project requirements, and determining appropriate resource allocation for each project.

Responsibilities

• Understand all aspects of the product lifecycle including requirements, design, development, testing, release management and product support.
• Be able to break down a given project into manageable pieces that can be accurately estimated.
• Provide estimates to senior management on engineering resources required.
• Assist with the implementation of a predictable, repeatable process for estimating projects.
• Work closely with Product Management and Engineering to define project requirements.
• Act as a liaison between Engineering Management and other parties (e.g. program managers).
• Work closely with Product Management on estimates for new features or enhancements to existing products.
