The ideal candidate will have 8-10 years of experience in water or waste water treatment projects. Qualifications

Job Description

This role is for interconnecting Piping & Structural steel and supports estimation engineering role during proposal stage for large /complex Water and Waste water treatment projects. This role does not have team members reporting directly but may need to have good influencing team working and communication skills to coordinate with various functions and ensure timely submission of quality bid engineering deliverables.

Must-Have Requirements

• Experienced in selection of non-metallic pipes & fittings (PP-H, UPVC, CPVC & PE) components selection & Metallic pipes & fittings (Carbon steel, Stainless steel, Alloy, Duplex) components selection
• Able to prepare 2D hand sketches of pipe routing of all major pipes in water treatment plant basis the PFD, preliminary P&ID, equipment layout and incorporating good engineering practices on layout engineering.
• Able to estimate pipes, fittings and structural steel requirements for projects in proposal phase without 3D model preparation
• Working experience with at least 4-5 global specifications like Aramco, KNPC, Technip, Tata.etc
• Pipe sizing calculation, Pipe velocity calculation, Hydraulic head loss calculation for various piping system.
• Intermediate level knowledge of working principle of Wastewater, Desal, UPW & ZLD process/ technologies.
• Experience in working ANSI/DIN/ISO/JIS standards & specifications. Able to select the correct piping class ratings and apply applicable codes and standard for pipes and fittings for each of the applications and costing estimation. Understands the cost impact of changes to the codes,utilizing basic knowledge on piping specifications, international codes and standards for pipes, fittings, pipe class ratings .
• Able to prepare company’s standard Piping materials specification for proposal submission
• Able to prepare the line list, Equipment list & valve list with minimum inputs of P&ID, Company standard PMS (Pipe material specifications) & VMS (Valve material specifications).
• Able to prepare the RFQ & Technical bid evaluation for Piping, Structural steel, Insulation, & installation using standard templates.
• Able to prepare costing for Piping, Structural steel, Insulation & installation using standard template and reference costs database.
• Basic knowledge & experience on quality/testing procedures followed for pipes, fittings, welding procedures and able to identify deviations/cost adders with respect to project Piping Material Specifications
• Able to prepare & maintain cost data base for future projects
• Well experienced with Microsoft tools, & Google tools like, PPT, Excel & Google sheets.

Good To Have Requirements (That Supports future Career progression in the Role)

• Extensive water treatment plant site experience during equipment & piping installation stage.
• Awareness and selection of rotating equipment like Pumps, Compressors & Blowers and ability to prepare RFQ, technical bid evaluation (TBE) for these will be added advantage.
• Able to prepare and review the P&ID, Layout & GA drawings for water treatment systems.

Experience:

Minimum 8-10 years’ experience as piping engineer in Water or waste water treatment projects execution or proposal estimation phase (preferred) .

Qualifications

Engineering Degree – Mechanical / Piping.
