Job summary

The Association of People with Disability seeks a dedicated physiotherapist to deliver community-based rehabilitation services across CRCs, schools, and community settings in Maharashtra. The role involves assessment, planning, and hands-on therapy for a broad range of disabilities, with emphasis on promoting independence and participation.

We value candidates with a BPT, experience in NGO/CBR programs, and an interest in early intervention and assistive devices.

Qualifications

• BPT is mandatory and MPT is preferred.
• Registration with the State Physiotherapy Council is preferred.
• Experience with NGO/CBR/disability programs desirable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive physiotherapy assessments for children and adults with disabilities.
• Develop and implement individualized rehabilitation plans based on functional needs.
• Provide interventions for neurological, developmental, orthopedic, and MSK conditions and address 21 disabilities.
• Monitor progress and modify treatment plans through regular evaluations.
• Deliver physiotherapy at CRCs, schools, Anganwadi Centers, and beneficiaries' homes.
• Promote independence and community participation for persons with disabilities.
• Support disability inclusion initiatives within the community.

Rehabilitationand Community-Based Rehabilitation

• Conduct comprehensive physiotherapy assessments forchildren and adults with disabilities.
  
• Develop and implement individualized rehabilitationplans based on functional needs.
  
• Provide physiotherapy interventions for neurological,developmental, orthopedic, and musculoskeletal conditions and also addressthe needs of 21 disabilities.
  
• Monitor progress and modify treatment plans based onregular evaluations.
  
• Deliver physiotherapy services at CommunityRehabilitation Centers (CRCs), schools, Anganwadi Centers, and beneficiaries'homes.
  
• Promote functional independence and communityparticipation of persons with disabilities.

Caregiverand Family Empowerment

• Train parents and caregivers in home-based therapy,positioning, handling, transfers, mobility, and daily living activities.
  
• Develop easy-to-follow home exercise programs.
  
• Strengthen caregiver confidence to continuerehabilitation independently.
  

EarlyIdentification and Early Intervention

• Screen children aged 0–8 years for developmentaldelays and disabilities.
  
• Provide early intervention services to enhancedevelopmental outcomes.
  

AssistiveDevices and Accessibility

• Refer and Assess beneficiaries for appropriateassistive devices such as wheelchairs, walkers, standing frames, orthoses,and adaptive equipment along with AAT team.
  
• Participate in assessment camps and assistive devicedistribution programs.
  
• Educate beneficiaries and caregivers on the properuse and maintenance of assistive devices.
  

Coordinationand Networking

• Collaborate with Occupational Therapists, SpeechTherapists, Special Educators, Psychologists, Medical Officers, andCommunity Coordinators.
  

Documentationand Reporting

• Maintain accurate beneficiary records, assessmentreports, therapy notes, and follow-up documentation.
  
• Update beneficiary information in the organization'sManagement Information System (MIS).
  
• Submit monthly reports, field visit reports, andprogram updates on time.
  

Monitoringand Quality Improvement

• Participate in case reviews, supervision visits, andmultidisciplinary meetings.
  
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies andrehabilitation standards.
  
• Contribute to monitoring, evaluation, learning, anddocumentation of program outcomes.
  

Requirements

EducationalQualification

• Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) – Mandatory.
  
• Master of Physiotherapy (MPT) – Preferred.
  
• Registration with the State Physiotherapy Council (preferred).
  

Experience

• 0 to 1 years of experience in physiotherapy orrehabilitation services.
  
• Experience working with NGOs, Community-BasedRehabilitation (CBR), Early Intervention, pediatric rehabilitation, ordisability programs are desirable.
  
• Fresh graduates with a strong interest in communityrehabilitation are encouraged to apply.
