Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. is seeking an ASSY Process/Equipment Engineer in India (Gujarat) to start up, develop, and optimize assembly processes.

You will work on yield improvement, cost reduction, and predictive control using AI/data analytics across high-volume manufacturing. Responsibilities include diagnosing process issues, applying FMEA/DOE/SPC methods, coordinating equipment/material evaluations, and driving continuous improvement with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelors/Masters/PhD in Electronic, Mechanical, Mechatronic or related Engineering.
• Min 5 years of experience in Assembly packaging or Semiconductor manufacturing.
• Knowledge in Wafer Dicing Processes.
• Familiar with FMEA, SPC and problem solving skills.
• DOE knowledge is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and Improve Assembly Processes, Materials, and/or Equipment; Maintain in-depth process knowledge.
• Maintain materials and equipment knowledge as it relates to the process and their interactions.
• Optimize process and/or equipment variables using DOE techniques.
• Define process edges and center the process (CPK); determine root cause and implement corrective actions.
• Define and maintain operation procedures; lead yield improvement and cost reduction initiatives.

As a ASSY Process/Equipment Engineer, you will be primarily responsible for starting up, developing and optimizing processes to improve product quality and reliability, working on process yield improvement, cost reduction, productivity improvement and risk management as well as resolving manufacturing line problems. You will also be required to identify, diagnose and resolve assembly process related problems by applying failure analysis, FMEA, 8D or SPC methodology. Additional responsibilities include coordinating and carrying out process, equipment and material evaluation/optimization to implement changes at process step, leading and participating in yield improvement and cost reduction activities, handling new process baseline qualifications and managing, auditing and liaising with material suppliers to achieve quality, cost and risk management objectives, while Integrating AI and data-driven methodologies to enhance process understanding, enable predictive control, and accelerate decision-making in high-volume manufacturing.

Responsibilities And Tasks

• Maintain knowledge of material attributes (shelf life, storage requirements, etc.)
• Define process edges and center the process (CPK)
• Determine root cause and implement corrective actions
• Define and maintain operation procedures

AI & Data-Driven Enablement

• Leverage AI/ML and analytics to:
  • Predict yield trends and detect early excursions
  • Identify hidden process correlations and variation drivers
  • Enable predictive process control and anomaly detection
• Utilize MES, equipment, and yield data to drive insights
• Collaborate with digital teams to deploy AI-enabled dashboards/tools

Requirements

• Bachelor's orMasters degreeor PhD in Electronic, Mechanical,Mechatronic or related Engineering
• Min5 years related experience in Assembly packaging or Semiconductor manufacturing background
• Possess good knowledge in Wafer Dicing Processes
• Familiar with Failure Mode Effects Analysis(FMEA), Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Problem solving skills
• Knowledge inDesign Of Experiment (DOE) will be an added advantage
• Self-motivated, possess initiative and ability to work independently
• Team player with good communication and interpersonal skills
