Job summary

Baker Tilly US is seeking a Payroll Administrator to join our Bengaluru-based team supporting US payroll processes. You will process bi-weekly and monthly payroll, review records, and collaborate with HR for accurate payments to employees.

The ideal candidate has at least two years of payroll experience (international payroll a plus), strong Excel skills, and a commitment to confidentiality and compliance with local and US regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 2 years payroll experience required; international payroll experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated problem solving, organization, interpersonal, project management, and communication skills.
  • Experience with Workday and ADP is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to learn and utilize specialized software, such as, UltiPro, Star, etc.
  • Ability to provide exceptional client service, demonstrate commitment to continuous learning, display appropriate ethical knowledge and commitment and exhibit a sense of urgency and commitment to quality and timely completion of duties.
  • Keen sense of accuracy and attention to detail, as well as ability to follow directions/procedures required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, time sensitive environment with frequent interruptions required.

Responsibilities

  • Process bi-weekly and monthly payroll.
  • Build strong relationships with Human Resources and review/update employee records as needed.
  • Partner with Leave of Absences team to ensure proper payments while employees are on leave.
  • Process bonuses or severance when needed.
  • Review employee federal and state income and related taxes for accurate calculation.
  • Use research skills to resolve discrepancies through collection and analysis of information within payroll system.
  • Reconcile payroll deposits, tax with holdings, wage garnishments, and voluntary deductions.
  • Create reports of employee earnings, taxes, deductions, and employers’ contribution of social security and unemployment; including other requested ad-hoc reports.
  • Maintain confidence of employee data by keeping all information confidential.
  • Provide support to firm employees regarding payroll questions.
  • Communicate effectively, professionally and accurately.
  • Ensure continuous learning in payroll best practices. Integrate new knowledge and skills into daily work and share with colleagues as appropriate.
  • Maintain current knowledge of local, state and federal practices and laws.
  • Participate in department projects and other tasks as assigned.
