Job summary

Xylem in Bengaluru seeks an experienced Accounts Payable professional to manage vendor payments, ensure SOX compliant approvals, and process high‑volume transactions in SAP S/4HANA. You will coordinate with treasury and master data to ensure accurate payments and robust controls.

Candidates should have 3–7 years of AP experience, strong English communication, and experience in a global SSC environment. Onsite role with standard hours and a focus on accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • 3–7 years’ experience in Accounts Payable and Payment activities.
  • Hands-on experience with Coupa S2P and SAP S/4HANA.
  • Strong understanding of GST & TDS compliance.
  • Good communication skills (English).
  • Experience in a Global Shared Services Centre.
  • Knowledge of SOX and internal controls.
  • Prior experience in high-volume invoice environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and execute automatic payment runs (F110) in SAP S/4HANA.
  • Initiate manual payments directly in bank portals for urgent cases.
  • Ensure proper approval and authorisation is obtained (SOX controls).
  • Accurately input vendor bank details, invoice references, and payment amounts.
  • Apply correct payment type (same-day, CHAPS, Faster Payments, international wires).
  • Attach or reference supporting documentation (approved invoice, business justification).
  • Validate payment proposals (due invoices, vendor selection, bank accounts).
  • Release and post payments (BACS, SEPA, wire transfers, cheques).
  • Ensure correct payment methods, terms, and bank details.
  • Monitor payment status and troubleshoot failures.
  • Post manual payments in SAP (F-53 / F-58) to clear open invoices.
  • Ensure correct GL, vendor account, and document references.
  • Perform pre-payment checks (duplicate invoices, blocked invoices, approval status).
  • Resolve payment rejections (bank errors, incorrect details).
  • Manage duplicate or erroneous payments and recovery actions.
  • Coordinate with master data team for vendor/bank corrections.
  • Coordinate with treasury on payment funding and bank balances.
  • Prioritise payments based on cash availability and urgency.
  • Support cash forecasting with payment schedules.
  • Work toward improving AP KPIs such as: On-time payment %
  • Low error rate (<1–2%)
  • Assist with month-end closing activities and reconciliation.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives

Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities

  • Ensure proper approval and authorisation is obtained prior to execution (in line with company DoA / SOX controls)
  • Accurately input vendor bank details, invoice references, and payment amounts
  • Apply correct payment type (same-day, CHAPS, Faster Payments, international wires, etc.)
  • Attach or reference supporting documentation (approved invoice, business justification)
  • Validate payment proposals (due invoices, vendor selection, bank accounts)

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:
  • Bachelor’s degree in commerce, Accounting, or Finance
  • 3 –7 years’ experience in Accounts Payable and Payment activities
  • Hands‑on experience with Coupa S2P and SAP S/4HANA
  • Strong understanding of GST & TDS compliance
  • Good communication skills (English)
  • Experience working in a Global Shared Services Centre
  • Knowledge of SOX and internal controls
  • Prior experience in high‑volume invoice environment

Office: Standard office equipment; work performed in an office setting free from any disagreeable elements. Standard weekly job hours: 40 hours / 5 days of week This requires the employee to work onsite three days per week (Tuesday to Thursday) This role operates within a two-shift structure (9:00 AM – 6:00 PM IST and 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM IST) to support North America. The specific shift assignment will be determined during the recruitment and selection process, and the successful candidate will be expected to work in one of the assigned shifts. For employees assigned to the Late Shift (12:00 PM – 9:00 PM IST), Xylem will provide company‑arranged transportation from the workplace to the employee’s home to ensure safety. This position would be in Xylem Bangalore Office (Karle Town Center).
