Job summary

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain or related field.
  • 5+ years in large-scale lubricant production or supply chain.
  • 3+ years supporting demand and/or supply planning in a large operation.
  • Strong English communication, both written and spoken.
  • Experience extracting information from ERP systems and using data insights.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, manage and optimize contracted packaging material and suppliers.

What you will do

Responsible for coordinating, managing, and optimizing assigned contracted packaging material and suppliers, and working with Sales & Marketing to execute packaging changes or optimization initiatives while ensuring regulatory compliance, market and operational requirements within the supply network.

• Optimize packaging supply processes, reduce costs, and enhance sustainability across the supply chain

• Champion packaging materials, design, and supply chain operations to enable improvements, ensure quality and compliance, and drive innovative packaging solutions

1. Coordinate, communicate, align

• Collaborate with procurement, supply chain, marketing and operations to ensure packaging meets functional, aesthetic, and regulatory requirements

• Support tender and contracts negotiation with packaging suppliers, monitor supplier performance, and manage relationships for reliable supply and competitive pricing

• Coordinate testing and analysis of packaging materials to ensure quality, operability, and safety standards

• Drive internal and external investigations on packaging quality and supply reliability

• Manage supplier relationships with the Procurement team

2. Execute Core Third Party supply process and activities

• Evaluate current packaging processes, materials and specifications to identify opportunities for cost reduction, compliance, operability and sustainability improvements

• Develop and implement packaging strategies aligned with supply chain and business objectives

• Provide guidance on selecting optimal packaging materials considering cost, durability, operability, environmental impact and product compatibility

• Stay up-to-date on industry trends, technologies and regulatory changes related to packaging and sustainability

• Oversee the implementation of new packaging designs and technologies within the supply chain

• Drive initiatives to reduce packaging waste, improve recyclability and minimize environmental impact

• Develop packaging specifications and documentation for products, ensuring accuracy and consistency

• Support packaging-related training and knowledge sharing

3. Additional responsibilities

• Ensure Corporate Packaging Standards are in place and adhered to for ExxonMobil Branded products, including third parties and resellers

• Provide packaging technical support and outline impacts of proposed initiatives to all Lines of Business in the region: Procurement, Marketing, Operations, Sales

• Specify design, performance and materials for all packaging components used within region, recording data in the corporate IT specification system(s) like PLM

• Collaborate with Marketing to ensure packaging supports brand and private label initiatives

• Work with Procurement to support tenders with market intelligence and select offers aligned with business needs

• Develop and maintain Business Continuity Plans with suppliers

• Work with Supply and Procurement to optimize packaging component costs

• Oversee the implementation phase of packaging or related systems

• Coordinate or support investigations of packaging-related complaints and quality incidents

• Assist operating locations in resolving non-routine packaging quality or supply chain issues

• Support packaging-related training and knowledge sharing across the organization

• Develop benchmarking on packaging with competition or across suppliers

• Work with Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Engineering to ensure compatibility with their requirements

About You

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Supply Chain, or Operations Research (or related fields such as Applied Mathematics/Statistics)
  • Experience in managing or supporting large-scale lubricant production activities
  • Minimum 5 years of experience post-secondary school graduation
  • Minimum 3 years of experience supporting supply chain activities with demand and/or supply planning in a large-scale operation
  • Understanding of Supply Chain Fundamentals and Supply & Demand Principles
  • Experience extracting information from ERP systems (such as SAP or Oracle) and using MS Excel for data insights
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
  • Experience managing supplier relationships for large-scale supply chain networks
  • Ability to function effectively in a team, including virtual environments

  • Experience in network, product flow optimization and replenishment planning for large-scale supply chains
  • Experience in project management and complex coordination
  • Experience with SAP IBP/APO, Blue Yonder, Kinaxis; Tableau/Power BI for visualization; Power Query, Excel
