Job summary

Crescendo Global is seeking a P&C Pricing Modeler in Gurgaon with 5+ years of experience in pricing and modeling for personal lines auto and homeowners. The role focuses on developing, refining, and maintaining pricing models using GLMs and machine learning techniques.

You will build end-to-end modeling pipelines, support rate reviews, and contribute to regulatory filings while leveraging Python, R, SQL and pricing tools. This is a hands-on, analytics-driven position with exposure to U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Master's degree in engineering, economics, mathematics, actuarial science, statistics, data science, or a related quantitative field.
• 5-10 years of pricing/modeling experience in the P&C insurance industry with hands-on model development ownership.
• Strong experience building GLMs for pricing or risk segmentation and applying ML methods to pricing.

P&C Pricing Modeling - GLM - 5+ Years - Gurgaon

P&C Pricing Modeler - Personal Lines (GLM & ML) role focused on developing, refining, and maintaining pricing and risk models for P&C insurance products using GLMs and machine learning techniques, with a focus on personal lines auto and homeowners.

Location - Gurgaon.

Responsibilities

1. Develop, refine, and maintain pricing and risk models for P&C insurance products using GLMs and machine learning techniques, with a focus on personal lines auto and homeowners.
2. Build end-to-end modeling pipelines covering data preparation, feature engineering, variable selection, model fitting, validation, and performance monitoring on large policy and claims datasets.
3. Apply machine learning methods such as GBMs (XGBoost/LightGBM), random forests, and penalized regression alongside traditional GLMs.
4. Support rate reviews and regulatory filings by producing model documentation, exhibits, and defensible explanations of model structure and variable effects.
5. Conduct competitive analysis and market research to keep pricing models aligned with market trends, loss cost developments, and regulatory changes.
6. Design and enhance pricing tools, model deployment workflows, and analytical assets to streamline and automate pricing processes.

Requirements

1. Bachelor's/Master's degree in engineering, economics, mathematics, actuarial science, statistics, data science, or a related quantitative field.
2. 5-10 years of pricing/modeling experience in the P&C insurance industry, with hands-on model development ownership.
3. Strong experience building GLMs for pricing or risk segmentation, including frequency/severity, pure premium, and loss ratio models.
4. Proven experience applying machine learning techniques such as GBMs (XGBoost/LightGBM), random forests, or regularized regression to insurance pricing or related problems.
5. Experience in personal lines, particularly auto and/or homeowners pricing, is strongly preferred.
6. Proficiency in Python and/or R for statistical modeling and machine learning, along with strong SQL skills for data extraction and manipulation.
7. Working knowledge of pricing platforms and tools such as Emblem, Radar, SAS, or equivalent is preferred.
