Linqsat is seeking a skilled tester to perform comprehensive testing of digital video streaming applications, both on mobile and smart TV platforms. You will execute manual and automated tests, validate video quality, and collaborate closely with developers and designers.

The ideal candidate has 2-5 years of experience in the field, expertise with testing devices, and familiarity with network debugging tools. The position offers a hybrid work model based in Haldwani, Uttarakhand.

Responsibilities

• Execute Manual & Automated Tests: Perform end-to-end testing on Android TV, Apple TV, Fire TV, Roku, iOS, Web, and Android mobile apps.
• Validate Video Playback Quality: Test streaming protocols (DASH, HLS), DRM content protection, dynamic ad insertion (DAI), and audio/video synchronization.
• Perform Network Simulation Tests: Analyze video player performance, buffering behaviors, and adaptive bitrate streaming (ABR) under fluctuating bandwidths. [1 , 2 ]
• Track & Report Defects: Document clear, reproducible bug reports in Jira with log analysis (using Charles Proxy, ADB logcat, or Xcode logs). [1 ]
• Verify Core Features: Test offline downloads, user authentication, subscription workflows, push notifications, and analytics tracking.
• Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with developers, product managers, and UI/UX designers to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly. [1 ]

Key Skills & Qualifications

• Experience: 2–5 years of experience testing digital video streaming or OTT media applications.
• Device Expertise: Hands‑on experience with streaming devices (Firestick, Chromecast) and native Smart TV OS environments (Tizen, WebOS).
• Technical Tools: Proficiency in network debugging tools like Charles Proxy, Fiddler, or Wireshark.
• Automation (Optional/Plus): Basic scripting knowledge (Python, Appium) for automated media player testing is highly preferred.
• Protocols: Understanding of video containers, codecs (H.264, H.265), and subtitle formats (SRT, VTT).
