Designation: OSI Engineer
Department: Electricial
Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent
Role Category: Electrical & Protection Systems - TG
Location: Hyderabad
Reporting: Associate Vice President – BESS
Role Overview
This role owns the electrical, protection, and grid-interface dimension of Bondada's in‑house OSI function, ensuring BESS, PCS, and transformer protection philosophies are coordinated correctly and the plant connects safely to the grid at synchronisation. The role works closely with Bondada's external OSI partner during project execution.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Technical – Protection & Grid Coordination
- Support review of plant‑level protection philosophy and coordination across BESS protection, PCS protection, substation bay protection, and the Substation Automation System (SAS).
- Assist in reviewing relay coordination studies and relay setting documents submitted by OEMs for interface correctness.
- Support alignment of the integrated protection philosophy with grid interface requirements and applicable CEA Technical Standards for BESS.
Technical – Commissioning & Energisation
- Support execution of integrated commissioning procedures for the electrical/protection layer.
- Assist in coordinating the energisation sequence, plant start‑up, and grid synchronisation on site.
- Verify installation readiness of HV/MV electrical equipment (33 kV/220 kV switchgear, transformers) ahead of integrated commissioning.
- Support Site Acceptance Test (SAT) execution for protection and electrical interfaces.
Documentation & Coordination
- Contribute to protection coordination documentation and track resolution of protection‑related gaps.
- Support root‑cause documentation for shortfalls traceable to protection or electrical coordination.
- Assist with as‑built documentation for the electrical/protection scope.
Qualification & Experience
- B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering or Power Systems.
- 4–5 years of experience in substation/protection engineering, HV switchyard commissioning, or electrical design, gained in solar, wind, or conventional power infrastructure/EPC projects.
- Exposure to 33 kV–220 kV class equipment (switchgear, transformers, protection relays) is required. BESS experience is preferred but not mandatory; candidates with a strong solar or wind switchyard/protection background are strongly encouraged to apply.
