Job summary

Blue Dart is seeking a Data Analyst – Operations to analyze regional operational data and deliver meaningful insights to improve performance, productivity, and service quality. You will work with data from service centres, hubs, and delivery operations to support regional decision-making.

You will automate reporting, build MIS dashboards, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive measurable improvements using Excel macros and Power BI where applicable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Computer Applications or a related discipline.
• Postgraduate qualification in Analytics, Operations or a related discipline will be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Analyze operational data across service centres, hubs, pickup and delivery operations.
• Track shipment volumes, service performance, productivity, manpower utilisation and other key metrics.
• Identify trends, exceptions and performance gaps requiring management attention.
• Prepare and maintain daily, weekly and monthly Operations MIS and performance reports.
• Develop and maintain dashboards for monitoring key Operations KPIs, including Power BI where applicable.
• Develop Excel-based reports and automate repetitive reporting using Macros/VBA.
• Provide data-backed insights to support corrective actions and productivity improvements.

Position Overview

The Data Analyst – Operations is responsible for analysing operational data and providing meaningful insights to support performance, productivity, service quality and operational decision‑making across the regional Operations network. The role will work with data across service centres, hubs, pickup and delivery operations and other network activities to identify trends, exceptions and improvement opportunities. Working closely with Regional Operations teams, the role will prepare and automate operational reports, MIS and dashboards to enable accurate and timely performance visibility.

Job Purpose

To support Regional Operations through accurate data analysis, reporting and actionable insights that enable better operational decision‑making, improve productivity and service performance, and simplify recurring reporting through automation.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Operational Data Analysis

• Analyse operational data across service centres, hubs, pickup and delivery operations.
• Track shipment volumes, service performance, productivity, manpower utilisation and other key operational metrics.
• Identify trends, exceptions and performance gaps requiring management attention.
• Conduct comparative and trend analysis across locations and time periods.
• Convert operational data into simple and meaningful insights for Operations teams.

MIS & Performance Reporting

• Prepare and maintain daily, weekly and monthly Operations MIS and performance reports.
• Consolidate information from multiple data sources for regional performance reviews.
• Ensure accuracy, completeness and timely availability of operational reports.
• Maintain standard reporting formats and trackers for consistent performance monitoring.

Reporting Automation

• Develop and maintain Advanced Excel‑based reports, trackers and analytical tools.
• Use Macros/VBA to automate repetitive reporting and data‑processing activities.
• Simplify existing reporting processes and reduce manual effort.
• Improve reporting turnaround time through appropriate automation.

Dashboard & Performance Monitoring

• Develop and maintain dashboards for monitoring key Operations KPIs.
• Present operational information in simple and easy‑to‑understand formats.
• Support development and maintenance of Power BI dashboards, where applicable.
• Highlight significant deviations and exceptions for appropriate action by Operations teams.

Operational Insights & Improvement

• Support root‑cause analysis of recurring operational performance issues.
• Provide data‑backed insights to support corrective actions and productivity improvements.
• Analyse location and network performance to identify improvement opportunities.
• Support measurement of operational improvement initiatives and their outcomes.

Data Quality & Governance

• Validate source data and identify inconsistencies, missing information and reporting errors.
• Maintain appropriate checks to ensure accuracy of reports and dashboards.
• Coordinate with relevant teams for correction of data‑related issues.
• Ensure appropriate confidentiality and handling of operational and business data.

Cross‑Functional Coordination

• Work closely with Regional Operations teams to understand reporting and analytical requirements.
• Coordinate with other functions where data inputs are required for analysis.
• Provide ad‑hoc analytical support for operational reviews and specific business requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Computer Applications or a related discipline.
• Postgraduate qualification in Analytics, Operations or a related discipline will be an advantage.

Experience

• 2-4 years of relevant experience in Data Analysis, Operations Analytics, MIS, Business Analytics or Operational Reporting.
• Hands‑on experience working with large datasets and preparing operational or management reports.
• Experience in logistics, express distribution, e‑commerce, supply chain, transportation or other high‑volume operational environments will be preferred.
• Experience in automating recurring reports will be an advantage.
