Job summary

Instawork is seeking an Operations Associate – Fleet Manager in Bengaluru to keep the Instacore fleet moving across cities. You will own visibility of each rig, monitor condition, and ensure timely readiness for recording, while coordinating with Field Officers and travel teams.

You will manage tracking, SD-card rotation, travel bookings, hub-to-hub movements, and daily asset reconciliation to minimize downtime and maximize utilization.

Qualifications

• 0–3 years of experience in operations, logistics, fleet, or inventory coordination.
• Strong tracking discipline; proficient with Google Sheets (filters, lookups, basic formulas).
• High ownership and follow-through; able to coordinate across many people and teams.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, on-ground operations environment.

Responsibilities

• Loss & Reconciliation — daily asset reconciliation and overdue asset follow-up.
• Reporting — share daily fleet status with ops leadership and trackers.

Robots are getting smarter, but they still can’t reliably do the everyday physical tasks people do— chopping vegetables, stocking shelves, assembling parts. The bottleneck is data. UCBerkeley’s Prof. Ken Goldberg calls it the “100,000-year data gap”: the chasm between themassive text datasets used to train language models and the tiny amount of real-world,physical-dexterity data available to train robots. The entire robotics industry collected only~100,000 hours of training data in 2024 and ~1 million in 2025 — and even the ~20 million hoursprojected for 2026 is still less than 0.04% of what is ultimately needed.IRL exists to close that gap. Using Instacore — a wearable multi-camera and sensor system(head, chest, and wrist cameras plus IMUs and a compute pack) — our field teams capturesynchronized, high-diversity egocentric data of real people doing real tasks across realcommercial environments: kitchens, warehouses, hotels, retail, and light manufacturing. Thatdata is quality-checked, anonymized, and delivered to the world’s leading robotics companiesand foundation-model labs to teach robots how to operate in the messy physical world. In India,we run the on-ground engine of this mission — a growing fleet of Instacore rigs, Field Officersand Data Collectors, regional hubs, and the operations and finance backbone that keeps it allrunning at quality and scale.

Role Overview

The Operations Associate – Fleet Manager keeps the Instacore fleet moving. You own visibilityand control over where every rig is, what condition it is in, and whether it is ready to record —making sure faulty rigs get back to the hubs fast, SD cards are rotated and fully accounted for,and Field Officers have the travel and logistics they need to be in the right place at the righttime. When the fleet flows, recordings flow — and closing the data gap depends on it.

Key Responsibilities

1. Fleet Tracking — Maintain a live, accurate view of every rig across cities and hubs (deployed,in-transit, idle, faulty, in-repair), tracked at serial-number level.
2. Faulty Rig Recovery — Ensure faulty rigs are pulled from the field and returned to hubsquickly; coordinate with QC / Hardware for repair or replacement; minimize downtime andidle assets.
3. SD Card Rotation — Manage the SD-card pool end to end: issue, collect, track, and rotatecards so data is offloaded promptly and clean cards are always available in the field; preventloss.
4. Travel Desk Coordination — Work closely with the travel desk to arrange Field Officerbookings, travel, and accommodation so deployments happen on time and cost-effectively.
5. Hub & Inter-City Coordination — Coordinate inbound/outbound movement of rigs betweenhubs and field; ensure the right rigs reach the right cities to match the pipeline.
6. Loss & Reconciliation — Run daily reconciliation of rigs and SD cards; follow up relentlesslyon overdue or missing assets; elevate cleanly when needed.
7. Reporting — Share daily fleet status (working / faulty / idle counts, in-transit, recovery TAT)with ops leadership; keep trackers current in Google Sheets.
8. Cross-Functional Work — Partner with ICs/FOs, Inventory, QC/Hardware, and the Traveldesk to remove blockers and keep utilization high.

Skills & Requirements

Mandatory
