Job summary

STL Digital Ltd. seeks an OpenShift Deployment Engineer to join our Gurgaon office. You will lead bare metal OpenShift deployments, manage versions, and ensure cluster stability across environments.

The role requires 5–10 years of hands-on experience, Linux administration, and strong networking skills. Night shift allowances apply; this is an on-site position with no work-from-home option.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of hands-on experience with OpenShift deployment on bare metal.
• Strong Linux administration and networking skills are required.
• Willingness to work night shifts and onsite in Gurgaon.

Responsibilities

• Bare Metal Infrastructure Management for OpenShift deployments.
• Migration across OpenShift versions between releases.
• Provision and deploy OpenShift clusters on bare metal hosts using the OpenShift installer.
• Manage OpenShift cluster components and network policies on bare metal infrastructure.
• Use Bare Metal Operator to monitor the health of hosts within the cluster.
• Configure network connectivity between OpenShift nodes and external networks, including load balancers and ingress.
• Troubleshoot OpenShift deployments for hardware, network, and cluster stability.
• Provide Linux system administration and networking support for OpenShift environments.

Key Responsibilities

Bare Metal Infrastructure Management:

Assessing and preparing physical hardware (servers) forOpenShiftdeployment, including network configuration, disk partitioning, and BIOS settings.

Version-to-Version Migration:Knowing the specific changes, deprecated features, and new requirements between differentOpenShiftversions (e.g., migrating fromOpenShift3 to 4, or 4.x to4.y)

Utilizing theOpenShiftinstaller to provision and deployOpenShiftclusters on bare metal hosts

Defining and managingOpenShiftcluster components like control plane nodes, worker nodes, and network policies on bare metal infrastructure.

Bare Metal Operator Management:

Utilizing the "Bare Metal Operator" withinOpenShiftto monitor and manage the health of bare metal hosts within the cluster.

Network Integration:

Configuring network connectivity betweenOpenShiftcluster nodes and external networks, including load balancers and ingress controllers.

Troubleshooting and Support:

Identifying and resolving issues related toOpenShiftdeployments on bare metal, including hardware compatibility, network connectivity, and cluster stability.

Required skills:

Deep understanding ofOpenShiftContainer Platform architecture and deployment methodologies

Expertise in bare metal provisioning and configuration

Proficiency with Linux system administration and networking concepts

Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker

Familiarity with Kubernetes concepts and YAML configuration
