Job summary

NTT DATA, Inc. seeks experienced medical coders to read clinical documentation and translate diagnoses into standard CPT/ICD-10 codes. You will ensure uniform vocabulary and accuracy for billing and reporting across facilities.

Applicants should have radiology coding exposure, auditing experience, and strong English communication. Regular meetings and training support credential upkeep; confidentiality is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Must hold a coding certification with exposure to Radiology coding.
• 4+ years of CPT/ICD-10 coding experience with regulatory knowledge.
• Experience auditing and mentoring freshers.
• Proficient with Windows PC applications.

Responsibilities

• Read documentation to understand patient diagnoses and assign CPT/ICD-10 codes.
• Transform diagnoses, procedures, and services into standard medical codes.
• Create uniform vocabulary describing causes of injury, illness & death.
• Review clinical statements and assign standard codes.
• Code and abstract information from medical records per facility/state requirements.
• Follow coding guidelines within productivity standards.

In these roles, you will be responsible for:

• The coder reads the documentation to understand the patient's diagnoses assigned
• Transforming of healthcare diagnosis, procedures, medical services, and equipment into universal medical alphanumeric codes
• Creating uniform vocabulary for describing the causes of injury, illness & death is the role of medical coders
• Medical coding allows for Uniform documentation between medical facilities
• The main task of a medical coders is to review clinical statements and assign standard Codes
• Coding and abstracting information from provider patient medical records and hospital ancillary records per facility and/or state requirements.
• Following strict coding guidelines within established productivity standards.
• Attending meetings and in-service training to enhance coding knowledge, compliance skills, and maintenance of credentials.
• Maintaining patient confidentiality.

Required Skills for this role include:

• 4+ years of experience working with CPT and ICD-10 coding principles, governmental regulations, protocols and third party requirements regarding medical billing.
• Coding certification is Mandatory, should have exposure in Radiology Coding
• Should have experience in auditing and should play an mentor role for freshers
• 1+ year(s) of experience using a computer with Windows PC applications that required you to use a keyboard, navigate screens, and learn new software tools.
• Ability to work scheduled shifts from Monday-Friday 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM IST and the shift timings can be changed as per client requirements
• Flexibility to accommodate overtime and work on weekends basis business requirement
• Ability to communicate (oral/written) effectively in English to exchange information with our client
