Role & responsibilities

The Static Equipment Design Engineer will be responsible for the detailed engineering, design, and specification of static equipment such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks, and process columns in accordance with project requirements and industry codes. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in EPC project execution in the Oil & Gas sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and engineering of static equipment (pressure vessels, columns, drums, heat exchangers, air coolers, storage tanks, etc.) in accordance with project specifications, applicable codes (ASME, API, TEMA, etc.), and client standards.
  • Preparation and review of engineering deliverables: datasheets, specifications, design calculations, material requisitions, and technical bid evaluations.
  • Interface and coordinate with other engineering disciplines, procurement, and vendors during equipment selection and procurement phases.
  • Review and approve vendor documents and drawings (GA, fabrication drawings, testing procedures, etc.).
  • Perform mechanical design calculations using software like PV Elite and CodeCalc.
  • Participate in HAZOP, 3D model reviews, and inter-disciplinary coordination meetings.
  • Support procurement and construction teams during technical clarifications and site issues.
  • Ensure timely delivery of equipment engineering deliverables in line with project schedule and budget.
Preferred candidate profile
  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • 6+years of relevant experience in static equipment design within EPC projects for Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Refinery sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of international codes and standards (ASME Sec VIII Div.1/2, API 650/620, TEMA, etc.).
  • Proficiency in design software like PV Elite, Nozzle pro, and AutoCAD.
  • Good understanding of materials, welding, NDT, and fabrication processes.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Experience working on international projects and with global clients.
  • Familiarity with project execution phases Detailed Design, Procurement Support, and Construction.
  • Exposure to EPC project tools such as E3D, Navisworks, or similar.
