Job summary

Techdefence is seeking a skilled SIEM Engineer to onboard security and IT log sources into SIEM platforms, configure log collection, and ensure data quality across multiple environments.

You will work with Syslog, REST APIs, JSON, XML, and regex, develop parsers in Python or Shell, and collaborate with SOC and detection teams to strengthen threat visibility.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with at least one SIEM platform.
• Knowledge of Syslog, REST APIs, JSON, XML, and regex for log parsing.
• Familiarity with Python or Shell scripting and Linux/Windows logging.
• Understanding of network protocols and SOC operations, and MITRE ATT&CK.

Responsibilities

• Onboard security and IT log sources into SIEM platforms.
• Configure log collection using Syslog, APIs, agents, and cloud integrations.
• Perform log parsing, normalization, field mapping, and data quality validation.
• Develop custom parsers and troubleshoot log ingestion issues.
• Integrate logs from firewalls, EDR/XDR, IAM, AWS, Azure, and other infrastructure sources.
• Collaborate with SOC and detection engineering teams.
