Job summary

Muthu Soft Labs in Chennai, India is seeking a CAD Design Engineer with 1 to 4 years of hands-on NX CAD experience to create, modify, and manage 3D surface and solid models, 2D drawings, and assemblies for engineering components.

You will collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure designs meet specifications, safety, and manufacturability; GD&T standards and data management within PDM/PLM are expected.

Qualifications

• Create complex 3D part models, sheet metal components, plastic parts, or surface models using NX CAD.
• Develop structured product assemblies, perform stack-up analysis, and conduct clearance/clash checks.
• Generate 2D manufacturing drawings with detailed GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) according to the standards.
• Modify existing CAD models based on Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Engineering Change Orders (ECO/ECN).
• Data Management: Maintain standard CAD file organisation within Product Data Management (PDM/PLM) platforms.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with tooling, testing, and production engineering teams to resolve design conflicts and validate prototype designs.

Role Description: We are looking for a detail-oriented and enthusiastic CAD Design Engineer with 1 to 4 years of hands-on experience using NX CAD. In this role, you will be responsible for creating, modifying, and managing 3D surface and solid models, 2D technical drawings, and assemblies for engineering components.
