Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily reports from Nursing Supervisors for VIP and critical patients.
  • Determine the correct number of nursing personnel needed for institutional objectives.
  • Establish evaluation criteria for nursing personnel.
  • Conduct daily rounds in wards and delegate work accordingly.
  • Coordinate with other hospital departments for smooth operations.
  • Develop an active recruitment plan.
  • Conduct interviews and select the best candidates.
  • Accountable for manpower, materials, maintenance of all equipment, and accurate records.
  • Plan yearly budget and monthly expenditure for the department.
  • Evaluate staff effectiveness and performance semi-annually and annually.
  • Administer activities of the Staff Nursing Hostel.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with Nursing Supervisors.
  • Attend H.O.D meetings promptly.
  • Organize regular in-service education for nursing staff.
  • Maintain discipline and systems in the department.
  • Assign and supervise nursing students in coordination with School and College Principal.
  • Implement daily feedback systems for activities.
  • Plan for crisis management.
  • Coordinate School and College inspections by the Nursing Council.
  • Ensure smooth operation of the staff nurses hostel.
  • Participate in hospital community service activities.
  • Oversee yearly auditing by internal and external auditors.
  • Maintain ISO standards.
  • Contribute to departmental quality initiatives.
  • Monitor department performance and objectives.
  • Support data collection efforts.
  • Adhere to safety norms for both patient and staff.
  • Perform tasks assigned by superiors.
  • Ensure all employees are trained on quality systems.
Job description
  1. Taking over the report from Nursing Supervisors daily (VIP & Critical patient).
  2. To determine the correct number of nursing personnel to achieve the objectives of the institution.
  3. To establish criteria for evaluation of the Nursing personnel.
  4. To conduct daily rounds in the wards and delegate work accordingly.
  5. To co-ordinate with other departments of the hospital for the smooth functioning.
  6. To develop an active recruitment plan.
  7. To conduct interviews and select the best candidates.
  8. Will be accountable for manpower, materials and maintenance of all equipments and accurate records medical and nursing.
  9. To plan for the yearly budget and monthly expenditure of the department.
  10. To evaluate the effectiveness of the staff and their performance half yearly and annually.
  11. To administer the activities of the Staff Nursing Hostel.
  12. To conduct weekly meeting with all the Nursing Supervisors and Sister-In-Charges.
  13. To attend H.O.D meeting promptly.
  14. Organizing regular In-service education to the nursing staff by the doctors and nursing personnel.
  15. Maintaining the discipline and systems in the department.
  16. To be responsible for assignment and supervision of the nursing students with co-ordination of School and College Principal.
