Job summary

Creative Capsule is seeking a backend engineer to develop and maintain scalable server-side applications using Node.js for web platforms. You will collaborate with front-end developers, designers, and QA to ensure performance, integration, and robust functionality, while writing clean code and comprehensive documentation.

You will lead or participate in designing REST services, manage databases, and contribute to deployment using AWS SAM and Serverless Framework.

Qualifications

• Experience building scalable server-side applications with Node.js.

Job Description:

This position involves developing and maintaining scalable server-side applications using Node.js to deliver high-quality, efficient solutions for web applications. You will work closely with front-end developers, designers, and other team members to ensure seamless integration, optimize performance, and enhance overall functionality. Key responsibilities include managing the interchange of data between the server and users, developing server-side logic, maintaining databases, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to front-end requests.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain server-side applications using Node.js and related technologies
• Write reusable, testable, and efficient code
• Design and implement low-latency, high-availability applications
• Integrate user-facing elements developed by front-end developers with server-side logic
• Integrate data storage solutions, including databases, key-value stores, and blob storage
• Communicate task progress and project updates to clients and team members
• Investigate new technologies to enhance client solutions
• Maintain clear code comments and organized project files
• Contribute to technical documentation and deployment guides
• Perform testing and collaborate with QA to ensure applications meet standards, taking ownership of error and bug minimization
• Write and maintain unit tests to ensure code quality and functionality
• Regularly review existing tests to ensure code coverage is matching accepted level
• Review code to ensure it is maintainable, error-free, and compliant with project requirements
• Provide feedback and training to junior developers

Technical Qualifications:

• Experience with Node.js frameworks and knowledge of development best practices
• Experience using AWS SAM and the Serverless framework to deploy REST APIs using API Gateway and Lambda functions
• Experience or good understanding of REST services
• Experience leading a development team for software product implementations
• Experience managing teams and evaluating team performance on a timely basis
• Experience resolving team and individual staff issues
• Experience working with QA teams and understanding quality assurance and best practices
• Experience using MS Office and project management, diagramming, and analysis tools
• Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript in a backend context, preferably in a Node.js and Express stack
• Experience writing and maintaining unit tests for backend code
• Experience actively contributing to a Node.js codebase in the most recent role and working independently in such environments
• Knowledge of express stack
• Knowledge of reporting and integration services
• Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases
• Familiarity with various source version control, project management, and other tools
