The Neurosurgeon will evaluate patients with neurological conditions, perform surgical interventions, and provide pre-operative and post-operative care. This requires advanced surgical expertise, precision, and the ability to handle high-risk and emergency cases.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and treat disorders of the brain, spine, and nervous system.
- Perform complex neurosurgical procedures including brain and spinal surgeries.
- Manage traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, tumors, and vascular disorders.
- Conduct detailed patient evaluations including neurological assessments and imaging review.
- Interpret diagnostic tests such as MRI, CT scans, and angiography.
- Develop and implement individualized surgical and treatment plans.
- Provide pre-operative counseling and post-operative care to patients.
- Handle neurosurgical emergencies including head injuries and intracranial hemorrhages.
- Collaborate with neurologists, intensivists, anesthesiologists, and rehabilitation teams.
- Ensure adherence to surgical protocols, SOPs, and patient safety standards.
- Monitor patient recovery and manage complications effectively.
- Maintain accurate and detailed surgical and medical records.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and treatment planning.
- Ensure compliance with infection control and sterilization protocols.
- Train and mentor junior doctors, residents, and surgical staff.
- Participate in clinical audits, research, and continuous medical education (CME).
- Stay updated with advancements in neurosurgery techniques and technology.
- Handle medico-legal cases and ensure proper documentation.
- Participate in emergency and on-call duties.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold ethical medical practices.
- Provide patient and family education regarding treatment and recovery.
- Work efficiently in high-pressure and critical care environments.
