Job summary

Hitachi Vantara Corporation in India seeks an experienced Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain secure network infrastructure for global operations. You will work with routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers and VPNs to ensure high availability and performance.

The role requires 3–5 years in enterprise networks, strong TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, Cisco gear, and a mindset for proactive problem solving. Certifications such as CCNA/CCNP are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience as a Network Engineer in an enterprise environment.
• Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, MPLS).
• Proficiency with Cisco networking equipment (routers, switches, firewalls).
• Experience with network security best practices and technologies (VPNs, firewalls, IDS/IPS).
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools and techniques.
• Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a team.
• Certifications such as CCNA/CCNP/JNCIP are desirable; cloud networking experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with other IT teams and business units to understand requirements.
• Participate in on-call rotation for network support and incident response.
• Evaluate and recommend new network technologies to improve efficiency and security.

The Team:

• Design, configure, and deploy network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.

• Implement and maintain network security policies and procedures, including access control lists, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
• Perform regular network audits and assessments to ensure compliance with industry standards and internal policies.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures.
• Collaborate with other IT teams and business units to understand requirements and provide network solutions.
• Participate in on-call rotation for network support and incident response.
• Evaluate and recommend new network technologies and solutions to improve efficiency and security.

What you’ll bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Network Engineer in an enterprise environment.

• Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, JNCIP) are highly desirable.
• Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
