Job summary

Citigroup India seeks an experienced Applications Development Senior Programmer Analyst to contribute to the design, development and deployment of enterprise-grade applications in coordination with the Technology team.

You will work with .NET, Angular, SQL Server, and containerized microservices in an Agile environment, guiding junior analysts and ensuring secure, scalable solutions on the Citi platform. This role is based in Chennai, India, and requires 9+ years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of relevant experience.
• 7+ years hands-on development in .NET framework with C#.
• Proven experience with ASP.NET Core or ASP.NET MVC for building web apps.
• 5+ years of MS SQL Server database development.
• 5+ years of Angular development.
• Experience with microservices and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
• Experience with Agile release methodology.
• Experience in managing and implementing successful projects.

Responsibilities

• Conduct feasibility studies, time/cost estimates, IT planning, and develop/implement new or revised applications to meet business needs.
• Monitor and control all phases of the development lifecycle and provide user/operational support.
• Analyze complex problems using in-depth knowledge of application development; evaluate processes and standards.
• Propose security measures in post-implementation analyses to ensure proper design and functionality.
• Consult with users and other tech teams on issues and implement advanced programming solutions.
• Assist in defining operating standards and processes; act as SME to stakeholders and team.

Job description

The Applications Development Senior Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct tasks related to feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, IT planning, risk technology, applications development, model development, and establish and implement new or revised applications systems and programs to meet specific business needs or user areas
• Monitor and control all phases of development process and analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation as well as provide user and operational support on applications to business users
• Utilize in-depth specialty knowledge of applications development to analyze complex problems/issues, provide evaluation of business process, system process, and industry standards, and make evaluative judgement
• Recommend and develop security measures in post implementation analysis of business usage to ensure successful system design and functionality
• Consult with users/clients and other technology groups on issues, recommend advanced programming solutions, and install and assist customer exposure systems
• Ensure essential procedures are followed and help define operating standards and processes
• Serve as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts
• Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
• Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
• Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgement regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

• 9+ years of relevant experience
• 7+ yearsof hands-on development experience in the.NET framework, with strong proficiency inC#.
• Proven experience withASP.NET CoreorASP.NET MVCfor building web applications.
• 5+ years of MS SQL Server database development experience
• 5+ years of Angular (preferably Angular 18) development
• Experience in working with microservices and containerization technologies, including Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift
• Experience with an Agile release methodology
• Experience in managing and implementing successful projects
• Subject Matter Expert (SME) in at least one area of Applications Development
• Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate
• Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
• Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
• Experience in systems analysis and programming of software applications
• Experience in managing and implementing successful projects
• Working knowledge of consulting/project management techniques/methods
• Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements

Education:

• B.Tech/B.Engg degree or equivalent work experience
