Job summary

NPCI in Hyderabad is seeking an experienced Java enterprise software developer to design, implement, and optimize distributed applications using Java, J2EE, Spring, Hibernate, REST, and SQL, collaborating with architects and business leads.

The role requires hands-on coding with Kafka and Redis, exposure to open-source tools, and a focus on AI-assisted development workflows including Copilot and Kilo Code. Strong problem solving and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 3-6 years hands-on experience in Java, J2EE, Spring, Hibernate, REST, and SQL.
• Strong foundation in computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, and problem solving.
• Experience with Kafka and Redis.
• Solid understanding of design patterns and UML; hands-on with at least one UML tool.
• Relational database experience (Postgres); NoSQL exposure (Cassandra/Foundation DB) preferred.
• Familiarity with open-source tools and AI-powered development tools (Copilot, Kilo Code).
• Basic understanding of Gen AI, prompt engineering, agentic AI, and AI-assisted workflows.
• Experience integrating AI/ML or LLM-based services with secure usage.

Key responsibilities

• 1. Experience in enterprise software environment using java & J2EE technologies
• 2. Having sufficient design experience in a complex enterprise software environment.
• 3. Strong foundation in computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, and coding
• 4. Hands on experience in developing code using Kafka and Redis
• 5. Good exposure to various Design patterns
• 6. Good working knowledge of UML and hands-on experience in at least one of the UML tools
• 7. Hands-on experience with Java, J2EE, Spring, Hibernate, Web Services, REST, SQL
• 8. Knowledge of Open-Source tools is a must
• 9. Strong experience in relational database (Postgres) and SQL. Experience of NoSQL (Cassandra/Foundation DB) highly desirable.
• 10. Good team player -Needs to work with Architects/ technical leads/ business leads to arrive at solutions
• 11. Handson experience using modern AIpowered developer tools (Copilot, Kilo Code, etc.) for coding, refactoring, documentation, and test generation.
• 12. Basic understanding of Gen AI and Machine Learning concepts, including Agentic AI, LLM capabilities, prompt engineering fundamentals, and AIassisted development workflows.
• 13. Experience integrating or consuming AI/ML or LLMbased services and APIs with awareness of responsible and secure use of AI in enterprise environments.
