Job summary

APM Terminals Pipavav seeks an experienced Multi-Equipment Operator to safely operate cherry pickers, Farana/mobile cranes, and forklifts. You will support workshop and operational activities, perform routine inspections, and ensure safe handling of loads in line with HSSE guidelines.

The ideal candidate holds a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, a heavy vehicle license, and at least 5 years of hands‑on crane and forklift operation experience. Rotation shifts and strict safety standards apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Valid Heavy Vehicle Driving License with authorization to operate lifting equipment.
• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience operating Cherry Picker, Farana/Mobile Crane, and Forklift.
• Safety-focused and able to follow HSSE guidelines.

Responsibilities

Job Purpose:

To safely and efficiently operate multiple types of material handling and lifting equipment, including cherry pickers, Farana/mobile cranes, and forklifts, ensuring smooth workshop and operational activities while adhering to all safety and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate cherry picker, Farana crane, mobile crane, and forklift for lifting, shifting, and positioning of materials and equipment.
• Ensure safe handling of loads in compliance with standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.
• Perform pre-start and routine equipment inspections to ensure operational readiness.
• Report any mechanical issues, defects, or unsafe conditions immediately to the supervisor.
• Follow all HSSE (Health, Safety, Security & Environment) guidelines and promote a strong safety culture.
• Maintain proper documentation such as logbooks, checklists, and equipment usage records.
• Assist in minor maintenance activities in coordination with the workshop team.
• Ensure efficient utilization of equipment to minimize downtime and improve productivity.
• Support workshop and operational teams during maintenance, breakdowns, and project activities.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Minimum Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Valid Heavy Vehicle Driving License with authorization to operate lifting equipment.

Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in operating:

  • Forklift
• Strong understanding of equipment operation and safety protocols.

Certifications & Additional Requirements:

• Relevant operator training / certification for lifting equipment is preferred.
• Mandatory medical fitness certificate, including:

• Good eyesight, hand‑eye coordination, and physical fitness.
