Job summary

Applied Materials India is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer/Project Lead to troubleshoot complex mechanical problems, lead design efforts, and define test reports. The role requires 10–15 years of CAD, thermodynamics, sheet metal design and manufacturing experience, plus knowledge of GD&T and flow analysis.

Travel up to 10% and relocation eligibility are expected. Location: Bengaluru, India.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • 10–15 years of experience.
  • Experience with CAD software, thermodynamics, sheet metal design, material selection, manufacturing methods, GD&T, and flow analysis.
  • Design for Excellence (DfE) knowledge is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and troubleshoot mechanical problems with limited supervision.
  • Define, coordinate, perform and document engineering test reports.
  • Develop, design, or modify mechanical engineering layouts, schematics, or drawings/specifications of difficult scope.
  • Perform engineering analysis of difficult scope with limited supervision.
  • Technically lead or execute projects; develop key suppliers and generate mechanical product specifications.
  • Design, develop and implement custom mechanical tooling, fixturing and processes; enable assembly/disassembly of parts; establish standards across operations.
  • Specify and review engineering documentation.
  • Implement concepts for complex product issues and mechanical solutions.
  • Clearly communicate complex information; build consensus.

Role Responsibilities

  • Clearly communicate complex or sensitive information; build consensus
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10-15 years of experience
  • Demonstrated experience with CAD software, thermodynamics, sheet metal design, material selection, manufacturing methods, GD&T, flow analysis and/or
  • Design for Excellence principle
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of the Applied Materials product life cycle, including prototyping, packaging, material selection and manufacturing methods
