Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Microsoft XDR and Sentinel Expert to join our cybersecurity team. The specialist will be responsible for designing, deploying, tuning, and managing Microsoft Sentinel (SIEM/SOAR) and the Microsoft Defender suite (XDR components). This includes Defender for Endpoint, Identity, Office 365, Cloud Apps, and Azure. The role will be critical in detecting, investigating, and responding to security threats across both cloud and on-premises environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement, configure, and manage Microsoft Sentinel and Microsoft Defender solutions.
• Create, optimize, and maintain KQL-based queries, analytics rules, and workbooks.
• Automate security processes using PowerShell and Logic Apps.
• Monitor, investigate, and respond to threats using SIEM/SOAR and XDR tools.
• Integrate Sentinel with other Microsoft and third-party security solutions.
• Ensure alignment with MITRE ATT&CK, NIST, and other cybersecurity frameworks.
• Collaborate with SOC analysts, IT, and business stakeholders for incident response.
• Provide SME-level support, mentoring, and guidance to SOC teams.
• Develop documentation, SOPs, and provide training to internal teams.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Education: BE/B.Tech in IT, MCA, or equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years in IT security, SOC design, and operations.
• Proven expertise with Microsoft Sentinel and Microsoft Defender for Endpoint.
• Strong proficiency in KQL (Kusto Query Language).
• Hands-on experience with PowerShell scripting and Logic Apps automation.
• Deep understanding of SIEM, SOAR, EDR, and XDR concepts.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 Defender, Azure Security Center, and related tools.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK and NIST frameworks.

Certifications (Preferred)

• Mandatory / Recommended: CISSP, CISM, ISO 27001/20000, SC-200, SC-100, AZ-500.
• Azure Cloud / Office365 certifications are an advantage.
