Job summary

Tata AutoComp Systems Limited in Pune seeks an experienced Motor Control Algorithm Engineer to develop and optimize traction motor control algorithms for EV/HEV platforms. You will implement FOC, torque and speed control, regenerative braking, and validate using Model-Based Development in MATLAB/Simulink with Embedded Coder.

Responsibilities include Clarke/Park transforms, SVM, PI controllers, sensorless control, and ensuring ISO 26262 compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in motor control algorithms for EV/HEV platforms.
• Strong background in FOC and model-based development.
• Knowledge of automotive ISO 26262 functional safety.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize motor control algorithms for EV/HEV applications.
• Design and implement FOC, torque, speed, and regenerative braking control.
• Develop solutions for PMSM, BLDC, and Induction motors using MATLAB/Simulink.
• Apply Clarke/Park transforms, SVM, observers, and PI controllers.
• Ensure ISO 26262 compliance and perform DFMEA/FMEA reviews.
• Collaborate with hardware, inverter, and system engineering teams.
• Support vehicle integration, calibration, debugging, and validation activities.

We are looking for an experienced Motor Control Algorithm Engineer with strong expertise in Field Oriented Control (FOC) and MATLAB/Simulink Model-Based Development. The role involves developing, validating, and optimizing traction motor control algorithms for Electric and Hybrid Electric Vehicle (EV/HEV) applications while ensuring compliance with automotive functional safety standards such as ISO 26262.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize motor control algorithms for EV/HEV applications.
• Design and implement FOC, torque control, speed control, and regenerative braking algorithms.
• Develop traction motor control solutions for PMSM, BLDC, and Induction Motors.
• Use MATLAB/Simulink and Embedded Coder for model-based development and auto-code generation.
• Implement Clarke Transform, Park Transform, Space Vector Modulation (SVM), Current and Torque Observers.
• Design PI Controllers, Field Weakening Control, and Sensorless Control Algorithms.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 26262 Functional Safety requirements.
• Perform SIL, MIL, PIL, and HIL validation activities.
• Collaborate with hardware, inverter, and system engineering teams.
• Support vehicle integration, calibration, debugging, and validation activities.
• Participate in DFMEA, FMEA, and safety concept reviews.
