Job summary

SGS Technologie seeks an experienced MongoDB database administrator to own design, performance, security, and reliability of the MongoDB estate. You will manage ReplicaSet and Sharded Cluster architectures, backups, patches, and migrations, and drive performance tuning in a fast-paced Agile environment.

Excellent knowledge of MongoDB architecture, Ops Manager, and MQL is required, with strong Unix/Linux scripting skills.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience with MongoDB administration and clustering.
• Strong knowledge of replica sets, sharded clusters, and Ops Manager.
• Experience with backup/restore, patching, upgrades, and migrations.
• Proven ability to design scalable, highly available MongoDB architectures.
• Proficient in Bash or Python scripting.
• Experience with Unix/Linux environments and Agile teams.
• Familiarity with automation tools (Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform).

Responsibilities

• Administer, monitor, and maintain MongoDB environments across development, staging, and production.
• Design ReplicaSet and Sharded Cluster architectures for high availability and horizontal scalability.
• Own backup and restore strategy and execution, ensuring recoverability meets business RPO/RTO requirements.
• Plan and execute database patching, version upgrades, and migrations with minimal downtime.
• Manage deployments using MongoDB Ops Manager.
• Perform performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning across the MongoDB fleet.
• Write and troubleshoot Mongo Query Language (MQL) for diagnostics and optimization.
• Administer underlying Unix/Linux infrastructure supporting MongoDB workloads.
• Work within Agile delivery teams, participating in sprints, planning, and incident retrospectives.
• Support automation initiatives using tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, or Terraform.
• Script routine operational tasks using Bash or Python.
• Provide input and support on other database platforms as needed.
