Alike Thoughts is seeking a seasoned MongoDB and PostgreSQL production support specialist in Hyderabad to manage 24x7 operations. You will handle incident response, performance tuning, and DR drills, working in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires expert MongoDB skills, solid PostgreSQL knowledge, and a proactive mindset to automate routine tasks, mentor peers, and contribute to reliability improvements across critical databases.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24x7 production support with rotational shifts for MongoDB and PostgreSQL databases.
• Perform Root Cause Analysis and provide permanent fixes.
• Investigate and resolve database performance issues.
• Join crisis calls, participate in MIR and PIR, and mentor teammates.
• Maintain complex High Availability replication clusters and provide DR consultations.
• Identify automation/self-healing opportunities and develop automation to reduce manual effort.
• Troubleshoot critical issues in Mongo and PostgreSQL environments.

Primary responsibility of this role is to provide 24x7 production support to Mongo and Postgres databases

Ideal candidate should have 6 years of experience and expert level knowledge of Mongo DB technology and good knowledge of PostgreSQL DB technology

Candidates who have creative thinking and are willing to bring innovations and passionate about working on challenging initiatives will be given preference

Principal responsibilities

• The job holder is responsible for 24x7 production support 247 shifts on rotational basis to MongoPostgreSQL databases and work as a Consultant Specialist for the production support team
• Perform Root Cause Analysis and provide permanent fixes
• Investigate and provide solutions to database performance related issues
• Join crisis calls participate in MIR and PIR calls also mentor team members
• Experience and expertise in maintaining complex High Availability Replication cluster setups
• Provide consultancy for complex setups and Disaster Recovery
• Identify automation and SelfHealing opportunities and develop automation to reduce manual efforts and contribute to process improvement
• Expert knowledge in troubleshooting and handling critical issues in Mongo and Postgres environment

Required Skill

• Candidate should be capable of handling production issues independently and provide resolutions within agreed SLAs
• Experience in Performance Tuning of the database
• Participate in Crisis Calls MIR PIR
• Should be able to present a solution and implement or explain the problem to both technical and nontechnical parties
• Should be able to lead crisis calls and work on finding the Root Cause Analysis and should be able to test implement remedial actions
• Follow best practices while managing systems and delivering services
• Collaborate with other teams and team members to develop automations selfservice solutions and process improvement initiatives

• Troubleshoot various types of critical issues in production environments
• Knowledge of database patching and upgradation
• Experience as Db2 LUW dba would be added advantage
• Mongo DBA external certification will be an added advantage

Postgre SQL

• Knowledge of PostgreSQL architecture background processes and storage structure
• Knowledge of database objects such as schemas tables indexes constraints and partitioning
• Awareness of replication concepts and high availability architecture Streaming replication failover procedures DR drills replication monitoring lag management
• Hands on experience of WAL mechanism archiving and basic backup recovery concepts
• Knowledge of transaction management locking and concurrency control
• Basic performance monitoring concepts including query behavior database growth management Query tuning EXPLAINANALYZE index strategy partitioning auto vacuum tuning bloat control capacity planning
• Experience in handling database maintenance and change activities like Review schema changes coordinate deployment windows validate postrelease database health and support rollbacks
• Knowledge of rolebased access control authentication methods and security best practices
• Familiarity with production support processes and incident handling in PostgreSQL environments
• Maintain documentation architecture standard builds operational procedures DR runbooks and support guides
