Job summary

Cognizant invites an experienced software engineer to design, develop, and optimize production-grade React Native applications for mobile platforms. You will work with JS/TS, React, and native modules, ensuring performance, stability, and secure release processes.

The role requires strong testing discipline, familiarity with REST/GraphQL, and hands-on mentoring of teammates in an agile, CI/CD-driven environment.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software development experience.
• 4+ years building production React Native apps.
• Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and React Native fundamentals.
• Experience with native mobile modules (Swift/Obj-C or Kotlin/Java).
• Experience shipping apps to App Store and Google Play.
• Familiar with RESTful APIs or GraphQL.
• Experience with state management libraries (Redux, MobX, Zustand).
• Strong testing habits (Jest, Detox, or Maestro).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Fastlane, Bitrise, GitHub Actions).
• Excellent communication and mentoring.

Responsibilities

Role & responsibilities

• Experience with native mobile development concepts and the ability to write or debug native modules (Swift/Objective-C or Kotlin/Java)
• Solid understanding of mobile app performance profiling and optimization
• Experience shipping apps to the App Store and Google Play, including release management and versioning
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, or similar data-fetching patterns
• Experience with state management libraries (Redux, MobX, Zustand, or similar)
• Strong testing habits (unit, integration, and/or E2E testing with tools like Jest, Detox, or Maestro)
• Comfortable working in an agile environment with CI/CD pipelines (Fastlane, Bitrise, GitHub Actions, etc.)
• Excellent communication skills and experience mentoring other engineers
